"Tulane provides an excellent medical education and is in an amazing location near the French Quarter. The only downside is the high cost!"

"This is a great program that continuously finds ways to open doors for it's students. The professors are experts in the field, the course content is diverse and opportunities for application of skills are everywhere. Unfortunately the cost of the program far exceeds potential income."

"There is only one con in attending my top choice graduate program at Tulane University. The one and only con is the price of tuition. Tulane University is my top choice for my Public Health Education. There is no other school similar to it in the entire United States. Their Public Health program is world renown and specializes in global health."

"As a student in the MPH program at Tulane, I was disappointed in how relatively simple the program work proved to be. I was in Epidemiology which is widely considered to be a more difficult specialization and definitely has the potential to be. Sadly, I felt that the offered courses merely dealt with the somewhat superficial aspects of the study. I would have preferred a more career based curriculum that rigorously and thoroughly prepared me for the challenges present in the real world applications of my degree. My interactions with professors were overall very positive. However, while serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant I quickly realized that interactions with some of the professors were routinely fraught with disturbances. This obviously differs both with the student and the professor in question, but I found that some professors were clearly there to conduct their own funded research and teaching courses was an unwelcome distraction."

"Overall the program was good though the feel that I was not a grad student and the lack of career support early on in my degree makes me unhappy with the program."

"The accounting classes are tailed to meet the requirements for the state CPA exam, which is extremely helpful as most students are from all around the U.S. and the world. Classes are not too difficult, but still provide a challenge."

"Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine has a very impressive faculty with connections all over the world. Our professors are involved in countless research projects and some even consult for UNICEF and WHO. The small class size allows you to form a strong relationship with your professors and they all have open door policies if students have questions or need advice."

"My program is extremely affordable as compared to other programs, and the faculty is extremely accessible. I love everything about it, although there should be more communication from the administration than there is."

"Pros: The teaching load for TAs is manageable. Uptown New Orleans is great. Faculty are friendly and approachable. Graduate student organization provides social activities as well as suggests improvements to the department. Cons: Classes in EEB are few in number. Required credit hours (48) is too much for a Ph.D. program, especially given the lack of classes offered in the department. Department is small (although this could be considered a positive thing), so the range of research topics is limited by the number of faculty. Heavy emphasis on birds. Yuk."

"Tulane is a great school. Most of my friends are employed at pretty good firms (which is impressive in this economy - no one is hiring architects). The quality of the design is okay..if you want to become an artist, doing the most forward thinking, innovative design, other schools are better. But if you want to be a real, practicing architect, with knowledge of things outside of architecture, Tulane is amazing. Very well-rounded."
