The school charges an arm and a leg and they promise you the world. After you enroll, they forget about you. I cant get any help finding a job. WOW! Is this legal?
I have a high GPA and great a reference from my externship and I never get job interviews. I've been networking outside of UEI to get a job and it's a slow path but I'm finding more on my own than from the school. They will send some students on a lot of interviews and I have gotten one in two months. The school experience was ok after they quit moving the location of our classroom. We got moved 5 times in 2 months. We had class sessions in the breakroom. Do not go here!
I started UEI college in Nov 2009, and I have already gone through 3 teachers. The El Monte UEI college doesnt have there things together. They cant keep teachers and when they do the teachers are not always here. I had a week without a teacher or sub teacher, loss of time there.
When my 1st teacher got moved up to corp. he stopped really caring about his class. From day one starting at El Monte UEI college, my teacher would yell and use bad language when calling students on his phone on speaker phone to yell and degrade them about why they are not in class. No one went to the office about this behavior due to being told by our teacher that if he didnt want us there all he had to do was say something and we would be let go.
I feel that this isnt right seeing that we picked to go here. And pay all this money for an education that we are not getting. its now april 6th and I havent learned much and Im stressed out all the time and hate going to school, and I have always loved going to school to learn new things, at which this time im not learning anything.
I would say that yeah maybe some UEI colleges may be helpful but when it comes to UEI COllege look the other way because you wont get the education that you are paying for and they say that they wont give anything back or do anything other then bring in people to go over what you need help with on your time like 30mins before class and on our breaks. we have all given up more time then we should and havent gotten anything out of it.
I had just finished with my class's on march 3. I have not yet to receive my externship. This is required for me to grad. I have had to been put on leave of absents so I don't get dropped from the program. The staff only cares about getting students in and signing the contract. Admissions will say anything to get you in. I have passed two certifications for computer systems tech. I have a 3.0 gpa. I have not been able to find a job. Every where I go people look at me funny when they see I went to UEI. I do not recommend this school to any one.
In the middle of my 8 months they switched instructors and I had to adapt to a whole different learning structure. This school will put you in debt and will not help you at all.
Go to city college its so much better and cheaper. Alot of my fellow class mates are in the same situation as I am. This is very disappointing. The labs are on are simulated computers .. you will not get any hands on experience. Please look for another way to get a career education. I don't want to see anyone else in my shoe's.
I went to UEI for the Pharmacy Technician degree. As I write this review there are job openings for Pharmacy Technician Instructors on craigslist. But when I try to get any help from career services my emails go unanswered and I have never been given an interview by them for a job.
I found my own extern site just like the other students there. The teacher was good but a little disorganized. Save your money-find a school that will make you go to a hospital and retail environment for your externship. You'll have a better chance of getting a job.
I was told by admissions that the externship will work with your work schedule and even take you on weekends....
you have to work 160 for a month at the schedule the externship tells you.. i was misquoted and not very happy about it .... she also told me for pharmacy tech you need a diploma...
there is no ged or diploma required for any career here but it dpes look better on your resume'
i choose UEI because they offer weekends and i work fulltime during the week
if your thinkin about medical... look into PIMA ;)
i graduated from criminal justice at uei college in december. it is now march and i still cant get a job. the van nuys campus is really bad the entire building has something wrong. the staff is not helpful at all. they had promise me a job after the 9 months of the program and nothing. after graduating you are on your own no one helps you like they said they were. they do have a career services department but no one helps there. they have only 4 people to help with job placement for over 8 thousand students. how is that possible? now im stuck with a $15,000 loan and no job. i do not recommend this school at all. it will be the worse thing you can do.
I enrolled at UEI for their Computer Networking class. I was really excited to think that I would be in a career where I would be able to succeed. I was told by their admission people that upon graduating with good grades and perfect attendance I would have a good chance in getting a job in the field. I was in school every day and received excellent grades.
To my surprise, when sent to job interviews by their job placement department, I was devasted to find out that nothing I had learned was anywhere near qualified for a job as promised by their admissions people. I was told by employers that my training was not sufficient because I did not have any certifications. I am shocked because I had awesome grades but I couldn't even pass a certification. How is that even possible?!
Now I know that their job was just to get me "in" and get me to so called "passing grades" so that the government would pay my financial aid. Now I am stuck with thousands of dollars in student loans and no job. Run the other way...
