"The Science and the Public program is intended for those who are already teachers (no one will tell you this). It doesn't prepare you for any job, but I suppose could bump you up a pay bracket if you're an already-established teacher. It doesn't have any active teaching/shadowing requirements, doesn't prepare you for a certificate. It's entirely online, which is convenient, but the trade-off is that there is very little oversight and support for you (even from your thesis advisor!). Education is a relatively easy degree, but I genuinely feel as if I paid thousands of dollars to learn zero actual skills and all background theory about scientific arguments. I got a general feeling that I was kind of an afterthought, not a priority. Here's hoping a master's is a master's and that it makes me marketable post-pandemic."

"I loved my years in college. Friends all around and so much studying to do."
