UB is a great place to earn a degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. It is overall a rewarding experience. The coursework for this degree is challenging. Some of the courses require a lot assignments, participation and also that we get involved within our own communities (even though the degree is completed online). Your classmates and instructors make up for any challenges you may face. The classes are small, and you encounter your professors and classmates in numerous classes. So you really get to know everyone. The coursework focuses on developing counseling skills, understanding theories, client placement, disabilities, tests, assessment devices, and students also experience a practicum and internship. This degree prepares you to work in the real world, and offers many great benefits to the students. By completion of the degree students are prepared for a certification test, and there are so many jobs available in this field. The professors, fellow students, and dedication to helping people with disabilities make earning this degree a valuable experience and investment for my future.
