"Loved my school, but the STEM majors have a lot of professors that are there to only do research and they don't care about students unless they can help them with their research. You see this a lot in the beginning core classes, but as you specialize more, it gets better."

"The University at Buffalo provides an outstanding and competitive education in a small city atmosphere. The campus is an asset to Western New York and it's residents."

"The University at Buffalo is a great place to attend school. There student population is extremely diverse, and there are many options for graduate assistantships and on-campus part time work, which is helpful for the graduate population. SUNY Buffalo is a Research 1 institution and the entire campus is committed to academic excellence. There is a healthy competitive nature among graduate students in my particular program, and with other top notch grad programs on campus, such as the Medical and Law schools I am sure this attitude extends beyond the Liberal Arts. Another great pro of attending the University at Buffalo is the low cost of living in the Buffalo area. This is extremely helpful for graduate students who are struggling with financial hardship. One of the only downsides to this particular University is the transportation system. Unfortunately, there is no great away of getting from one place to the other, and the campus is fairly spread out. In addition, the school is situated rather far from grocery stores, malls, nightlife, and pharmacies. This remoteness makes it difficult for students who don;t have their own personal cars. There is a shuttle called the UB Stampede, but it does not run very often."

"The curriculum mostly focused on electrical theory. This proves to be detrimental in searching for a job with no hands on experience. The workload mostly consists of things that do nothing to prepare a student for the work force."

"I attended the School of Pharmacy from 2002 to 2006 and earned a PharmD. I can not speak to the undergrad programs, but I will discuss the pharmacy school. The PharmD I earned allowed me to get a pharamcy license, so in that respect it has helped my career, but the same could be said of any pharmacy school. The teachers are mostly arrogant. The financial aid is poor. There are some scholarships available, but they are given out to the teachers' pets, and not awarded on the basis of need or merit. When I was ill, there was no compassion. I had a small child who atteneded day care at that time, and some classes were scheduled past the time her daycare closed. I tried to change sections for a better schedule, and was told it was not possible and that I should consider dropping out since I had a small child with a "difficult" schedule. If you decide to attend UB School of Pharmacy, either suck up to the teachers or you are on your own. It may be cheaper than other pharmacy schools, and the indifference may be the same at other schools, but I do not get any warm fuzzy feelings when I think of my time at UB."

"College was one of the best experiences of my life and I would not give it up for anything. Specifically in Buffalo the balance of schoolwork and social life was amazing. There were plenty of places to get work done and plenty of places to go with friends or meet friends. My degree, and internship, have allowed me to gain a position with a top pharmaceutical company in the world and I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend you find something you truly enjoy and go for it."

"UB has a lot of professors that genuinely care about their students and want them to excel, not only in the classroom but in their future careers. Additionally, the students are very supportive and create a great sense of community."

"While still a new program, the theatre and dance department has some amazing people on board with it. The fact that the grad program caters to the individual, as opposed tourist an overall curriculum speaks bolumes to the integrity of the the faculty."

"The pro of my program is that I was accepted. The cons are that it is underfunded. I don't have funding because they don't have funding for everyone. There also aren't enough professors for the amount of students. It is everything that is wrong with academia."

"Pros would have to include the amazing faculty and staff. They will go out of their way to help you succeed in any way they can. Very approachable. Cons would have to include the out-of-state tuition amounts, lack of scholarships/funding and use of technology. There should definitely be more computers for law students in the law library. There should be more rooms, coffee shops and a general place to hang out."

"My graduate program is great because of the coursework, professors, and student body. The coursework is structured so I can get educated in a classroom setting, and in a real world setting. The professors are always very active to help and they are very knowledgeable in their field. The student body is very motivated, friendly, and helpful."
