"UCLA provided me with an excellent education that enables me to apply what I learned to new areas of work and to learning new things. The professors are first rate, they are interested in you and they are thoroughly engaged in what they are teaching. There are opportunities to meet students from all over the world and to travel abroad."

"What is not to love about being a UCLA Bruin. Just walking the campus brings immediate pride. The Sociology professors are experts and very knowledgeable. The material is interesting. The most challenging courses for me were statistics and Sociological theories. I preferred the core classes. As a Disability Studies minor, i was the first to graduate with this minor and I appreciated the perspectives offered in this course. It went very well with Sociology."

"UCLA offered classes that spans the array from truly academic to vastly theoretic. As a student, you have the ability to take classes across every field, including graduate level classes that feed your interest. The students are truly the most eclectic bunch, from the artists seeking film and television in Hollywood, to the die hard foreign students that traveled across the ocean for the opportunity. My personal experience was very good. I enjoyed all of my classes, except a few of my basic economic and math classes. Unfortunately, there were a lot teaching assistants that spoke English as a second language which made some of my classes a little more difficult than anticipated. Other than that, UCLA offers a variety of classes and since graduating, I have found the graduate network truly amazing. I'm currently building up my local network and have found that the alums in the area are ready to mix and mingle with others."

"UCLA was the only university that I applied to and I was lucky to be admitted. UCLA was a challenging and rigorous academic environment. The quarter system squeezed the time available to cover the necessary subject manner. You definitely had to learn time management. I was an Economics major because there was not an undergraduate Business Administration major. However, there were several Business and Accounting classes that were available. I was an Economics major because I wanted to major in something that I thought might lead to a job in the business world. While this background was helpful in obtaining my initial jobs in the business world, the longer I was out of school the more I realized that the ability to problem solve and interact with people were critical components for success, and traits that could be received through many majors. I have maintained friendships with my Sophmore roommate all of these years. I have had season football tickets since 1975 and have served in leadership positions in the Alumni Association. The longer that you are away from UCLA the more you appreciate it and the more that you want to give back!"

"I entered the program just as the transition to microcomputers was getting underway. In addition to my excellent systems classes, the team assignments and projects were very useful for my professional career as a consultant, where a lot of the job was collaboration with various end-users and the IT department."

"UCLA was the best decision that I could have made. I was out of state so the tuition was the same as attending a private university elsewhere. The campus is lovely, the students engaged and the teaching staff was always available to answer questions and help guide me on my journey. UCLA is the total package school, a world class education with exciting sports and all the life that Los Angeles has to offer. I will always cherish the four years I spent there and the people I met. Go BRUINS!"

"I earned my degree in the department of Community Health Sciences. My courses prepared me for entering the public health workforce. The internship/field work was a great real world experience. I felt supported by other students as well as professors and advisors. I built life-long personal and professional relationships during my time at UCLA SPH."

"UCLA offers an excellent doctoral program in environmental science and engineering. The program is designed for people who wish to make a real practical difference in the environmental arena, as leaders of environmental think tanks or similar organizations. The program accepts people with master's degrees in a wide range of areas, and graduates people who have completed a dissertation in a real-world application, rather than in a lab doing theoretical work or paper studies. The graduates have studied enough variety of subjects to converse intelligibly with lawyers, engineers, chemists, biologists, and anyone who might be involved in the environmental arena."

"I have a degree B.S. Applied Physics. This major prepared me for many opportunities I the field of science, where a degree in let say electrical or any other engineering would have restricted me in selecting other jobs. Also if you think about it, at the age of 18 a person does not really know what he is interested in. Majoring in physics really encouraged one in to think and reason instead of memorizing. It was funny that my first boss looked at my records and said: "I see you have a degree in physics, what would you like to do?" As it turned out at the end I wound up designing optical systems which, I enjoyed very much and did for 26 years."

"Spending four years at UCLA to get my bachelor's was the best choice I made. It is such a vibrant school, full of energetic and curious individuals doing so many different things. I came from a small private high school of 750 students total, but was able to find a niche in such a large student body."

"UCLA School of Nursing has a proud history of being an innovative school, from the first Dean, Lulu wold Haseplugw who instituted allowing Nursing students to live outside a dedicated "Nurses Dorm" (chaparoned) to not wearing caps, which most nurses now do in practice. Lecture and classrom esperience were followed by supervised hands-on patient care. Bedwide patient care was emphasized as the primary purpose of a nurse, using Nursing Theory to bolster what was taught. When I attended, Nursing theory was coming into its own, with prominent theorists on the faculty and available to students."

"Attending UCLA was one of the best decisions I have made. The school is demanding and the payoff was rewarding. I am very connected to UCLA and have made life long friends there, both while attending and as an alumni. If you want a challenging and rewarding college experience, attending UCLA is the way to go."

"I loved UCLA! I received a top notch education and enjoyed every minute of my time at UCLA. I would highly recommend UCLA to any prospective student. The professors and degree programs are nothing short of stellar. I was fortunate enough to become a Teachers Assistant in the Education Department during my time at UCLA and learned so much. I also worked on campus at the John Wooden Center while I attended UCLA and made life long friends. I am so proud to be a Bruin! If you think you might be interested in UCLA - go visit the campus. Talk to the students. Visit the dorms. Attend a football game. Get a sense of what it's like to be a Bruin - you'll love it!"

"The Financial Engineering Program in UCLA is offered by the Anderson School of Management. The course curriculum has been well designed to prepare the students for a diverse range of career paths: form Wall Street Banks to Boutique investment management firms. The academics and faculty are excellant. LA being a sunshine city is also a great place to be. As it was rightly mentioned it's one of the few public universities with Ivy League quality education."

"I had a great time during my MBA at the Anderson School at UCLA. The collaborative student body, the entrepreneurial culture of the school along with the opportunity of being in a stellar university like UCLA, all helped in making my two years in Los Angeles quite exceptional. On the professional front the experience was equally satisfactory and I was able to make a seamless transition from a technology background to a career in finance."

"UCLA was one of the greatest times of my life because I was able to interact with diverse groups of people, learn about myself through interactions with others of diverse backgrounds, and the support of the alumni network is amazing. I was able to engage in so many activities that opened my mind to the world, especially the study abroad program in Spain. After that program, I started travelling all over the world and have been to over 25 countries before my 40s."

"UCLA was a great experience for me. I gained a lot of knowledge in my major which wasn't only theory but gave me the opportunity to do "hands on" work such as mentor at risk youth. Professors were approachable and very helpful especially when it came to writing letters of recommendation. Aside from studying, I made everlasting friendships who I still connect with as alumni. Social organizations were fun to be a part of which allowed me to give back to the community and also served as a support/motivational group for me especially when it came to stressful times ie midterms and finals. It was great to have been part of an educational institution which is not known only statewide and nationwide, but also worldwide. I'm very proud to be a UCLA alumnus. Go Bruins!"

"For a progressive, diverse and well-rounded student body and first rate education, UCLA ranks among the best universities in the country. Professors are well known in their fields of expertise. I appreciated the level of students accepted to the school. You may have been top of your class in high school, but so was everyone else accepted to UCLA so it makes you strive harder to keep up. Post-graduation successes also are great indicators to the caliber of students and the education they received at UCLA."

"UCLA was a fantastic place to study as an undergrad. I was given a lot of flexibility in choosing courses which both appealed to my interests and my future career goals. When I decide 2.5 years in that a Bachelor's of Science was not for me, dedicated counsellors helped me to find the right path to graduate on time with a B.A. I was incredibly happy in my B.A. program, and found that in addition to top-rated faculty-led classes, UCLA offered so many opportunities to pursue my academic (and entertainment) interests outside of class with guests lecturers and visiting performances. Finally, when I graduated, I had a job offer directly related to my degree. Since that first job, I know that when employers see UCLA on my resume, they associate it with high quality and standards."
