"If you enjoy thinking about social work, learning clinical skills, or otherwise just quality education then avoid coming to DU for your MSW. It's dramatically overpriced and the "value" of this education isn't even close to as much as you pay to go here. Go to a state school. If you apply and don't get into one on your first cycle...apply again. DO NOT GET AN MSW AT A PRIVATE SCHOOL. Especially not DU...they are looking to indoctrinate you into their way of thinking about social work. Any deviation is not accepted. Avoid at all costs."

"This program has a nice integration of both clinical and non-clinical psychology/development work. I enjoyed the professors and faculty that are a part of the program as well. The opportunities that are available through this program are fantastic, and I feel confident going into my career having this program attached to my name."

"I have so enjoyed my time at the University of Denver, which is why I applied and am considering continuing on to pursue my doctorate degree through the same program. I began my masters in International Disaster Psychology in September of 2015 after deciding that I wanted to pursue a career in global mental health. Through the program I have been able to experience excellent internship opportunities, most notably an international internship in Cambodia over the summer. This experience was so eye opening to me and gave me first hand, practical experience of what global mental health work is like. I would suggest this program to anyone who is interested in studying mental health in a capacity that is a bit "out of the box" and who desires to focus on a more systems level approach in their graduate studies."

"University of Denver is a fantastic academic school. It has an amazing campus and continuously has so many activities going on around or at the university. The educators are fantastic and those in student services could not be more helpful! I am so grateful for the opportunity that I had to attend there. My undergraduate degree was influential in helping me continue my education in graduate school in which I am attending currently."

"The graduate programs offered by the University of Denver are extremely rigorous, and competitive. The quarter versus semester system really threw me for a loop, and being on a quarter system is difficult to adapt to at first. However, professors understand this. Most of the professors in the Josef Korbel School of International Studies, which is where my classes took place and is the graduate program I can speak on, are willing to work with you and share their knowledge. I have overwhelming admiration for the feats and accomplishments that all of our professors, faculty, and staff have on their resumes. There are many internship and career opportunities that stem from the programs offered at the University of Denver, and everyone is always willing to work with you to find what is perfect for you. Going to DU for my Master's Degree was honestly not only the best decision for my education, but also one of the best decisions I have ever made; it opened me to a new world, new people, perspectives, and experiences that I otherwise would have never had."

"The University of Denver offers a variety of opportunities for students of all backgrounds. Policies of inclusion and aims of creating a more diverse institution make the University a beacon of hope and prosperity for all Americans with aspirations of higher education. Wrought with opportunity to engage with, and participate in, on-campus dialog and thought-provoking discussions, the campus also has experiential learning environments that encourage growth and interaction amongst peers and colleagues. And if the city is too much for you at times then the school is only a short drive away from adventure on the unbeaten mountain path."

"The University of Denver's Josef Korbel School of International Studies is a truly rigorous institution, primarily focused on an education for practitioners of international studies. The Office of Career and Professional Development Services is extraordinarily well-connected, and is effective at getting students connected with profitable, advancing internships in their chosen fields. The coursework is rigorous, and the instructors are passionate and available. The only aspect of the institution that I find mildly unsatisfactory is the low-level of diversity of the student body; however, the individuals in my cohort do boast a great deal of international experience in the military or within service and social justice organizations like the peace corps, which helps to offset this shortcoming. Overall, I strongly recommend the University of Denver's Josef Korbel School to perspective international studies graduate students."

"My time at DU was a struggle. I often regret going to a school that cost so much, and thus led to a large amount of student loan debt. Most people I knew left with more debt than they could ever realistically pay back and no immediate job prospects. It took me two years to find a job in international education and I am only now starting to make a dent in my debt. This is a joint degree program, meaning I took classes in International Studies and Media, Film, and Journalism Studies. My IS classes had the semblance of being practical, whereas my MFJS classes were overwhelmingly theory-based. I don't believe the program is focused enough on practical education and gaining the skills needed to be competitive in the job market. I did meet some amazing people who will hopefully be lifelong friends, but overall my graduate school experience was disappointing."

"The Daniel's College of Business at the University of Denver is a fabulous program focused on empowering students to ethically run their businesses and lives with class, balance, and smarts. I highly recommend Daniel's College of Business to anyone who wants to gain confidence in owning their own career path and learn how to be a better business leader in giving back to the greater community."

"The Master of Accountancy program at DU has been a wonderful experience. Faculty really push for critical thinking and judgment decision making, which really helps students to start thinking outside the box. DU values innovation and creativity, as well as students from all over the world. So far it's been an amazing experience."

"I am writing this essay as newly admitted graduate student to the University of Denver. I am unable to accurately articulate how excited I am to become a pioneer. I have had my eyes set on this program (Global Finance, Trade and Economic Integration) for a long time and I truly fortunate to be granted the opportunity to join this honorable institution. The decision to apply this program spawns from research, national reputation and student involvement. For the purpose of the essay, I want to focus on student involvement. There are YouTube videos, Facebook Groups and an amazing student services department. I've watched a handful of YouTube videos of students who shared their expectations, experiences and goals of joining the program. Being able to experience this program through the eyes of prior/current students was extremely valuable in making the decision to apply to this school. Once accepted into this program I have been allowed to join a Facebook group of current students. This pages acts like a forum. I am able to chat with students and I have been invited to social/academic events. The whole admission experience has been great, but what has been the icing on the cake is the helpfulness of student career services. I've been able to ask them all manner of questions, even questions that are typically outside their expertise. They have allowed me to audit classes and arrange meetings with faculty. They have even asked me about internships and how they can help get the ball rolling there as well. I am recently admitted student, who hasn't even begun classes. I will start January 3rd, 2017, however the treatment of the community has been amazing. The treatment has not only comes from the students, but from the faculty and former alumni. I have been extremely impressed with my experience thus far and I am so honored/privileged that the University of Denver would give me the opportunity to join their team."

"The University of Denver graduate program has an extremely professional and helpful environment. The classes are all very rewarding and the rat race of undergraduate GPA is greatly reduced. You must achieve a 93 to receive an A in your courses which also helps a lot."

"The University of Denver was an excellent choice for graduate school. With most graduate level classes that I needed being offered in the late afternoon or evening, it allowed me to continue working while obtaining my advanced degree. The campus is a beautiful mix of historical and modern buildings just south of downtown Denver and is very convenient to many of the best things about living in Denver."

"There is not another school in Colorado that I could imagine would provide as extensive of an education as the University of Denver. The small class sizes are incredibly conducive to learning. The largest class I had was a general requirement and had eighty kids in the class. Overall, almost all of the professors are incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and concerned about their students' learning. I enjoyed the University of Denver so much that I'm choosing to go back to their law school this fall."

"The pros of the Religious Studies graduate program at the University of Denver are the small class sizes, the diverse and knowledgeable faculty, the amazing support staff and the quality of the students in the program. The only con of the Master's program is that they do not allow for MA students to serve as Teaching Assistants."

"The Denver Publishing Institute is a four week professional networking opportunity and training session that prepares creative professionals for their ambitions in the publishing field. The program is relatively short compared to graduate programs, so less time is invested from students but valuable contacts and skills are learned if the student is dedicated. A certificate is awarded as well as graduate credit as an added safety blanket for graduates from the program. Major publishing professionals have graduated from the program and come to speak and network at the summer session, but like all human relations, interests and skills must overlap for the right opportunities."

"As a graduate social work student, I was thrilled to have professors that helped expand the network I have to connect with well-practiced social workers. Additionally, DU has connections to local and global programs that will create future job opportunities for students! The DU program is hard to beat!"
