"I have had a positive experience at the University of Denver for my MA program in international development with a certificate in global health affairs. The professors and the Career Services Center are two of the best components of this program. I am grateful for all I have learned there and the professional and personal contacts I have made."

"The M.A. Con Res program is a one-year program for gaining a general and theoretical understanding of conflict resolution fundamentals. It straddles the public policy, international, and interpersonal sectors, as well as incorporating a practicum program to gain experience in either problem-solving workshops, public facilitation, or organizational analyses. There is opportunity to gain expertise in conflict analyses for a wide range of situations. Though the program has its structural issues, the director is flexible and open to ensuring you meet the education needed to achieve your professional goals. There is also opportunity to take courses in other schools, such as social work, business, or law."

"Went I decided to apply to the University of Denver I was very nervous and excited at the same time. It had been many years since I was in a class. However, the process was easy, the faculty and staff were warm and receptive. This made my transition smooth and calm my anxiety. I had been wanting to take the step for so many years and now I was finally doing it. I had a conversation with my advisor who was very open to any questions and was willing to provide me with all the answers I needed. Today I feel sending out my application was one of the best moves I could have made at the time. I was dissatisfied with my current employment, but I have been there so long it was difficult to move on. So graduate school was my answer. I knew I needed to refresh in order to start over. Well, today I am 3/4 in and am grateful I took the leap. The University of Denver has opened my eyes to so many aspects of Environmental Health and Safety, climate change, global warming among other things that I cannot help but celebrate my decision. Thanks in part to the faculty and staff it has and continues to be a great journey. I would absolutely recommend the Environmental Policy and Management Program with a focus in Environmental Health and Safety. One of the best decisions I have made."

"The University of Denver is an OK institution, but for how much they charge not sophisticated or prepared enough to aid in getting its students employed."

"The University of Denver has great faculty who go out of their way to help you develop applicable professional skills and gain the experience you need to succeed in the future. I was able to work with real clients and develop plans that actually help their business. The campus is beautiful and there are so many ways to get involved."

"I graduated from the University of Denver in 2015 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and minors in leadership and chemistry. While my career interests lie in dentistry and not in biology, I feel that DU was able to prepare me for graduate school quite well. I was focused on my academics throughout college to be able to get into dental school, but I also enjoyed my time at DU. The first-year classes offered a nice transition from high school into college and gradually increased in difficulty. A great introductory course in the fall of the first year is called the freshman seminar. This is a class that every student must take but has a wide variety of subjects. The seminar that I took was a tango class, but there are classes on everything from forensics to zombies. The seminar doesnt have to be related to your major, just something you are interested in. This class is a way of providing students in college a way to meet friends with similar interests outside their major as well as introduce them to what is expected in college level courses. The University of Denver also offers a wide range of extracurricular clubs, sports, and events. I was involved in GlobeMed (a club focused on global health and working with grassroots organizations) and intramural sports. While I attended, twenty percent of student body was involved in Greek life. Since Denver is so close to the mountains, there is an alpine club that organizes trips to explore the Rocky Mountains all year round. These are just a few examples, but there are many clubs with different interests to get involved in. One of the most significant reasons that I chose to attend DU was the study abroad program. DU makes it very easy to be able to study in another country for a semester. Most people that study abroad at DU do so during the fall of their third year. I would say that at least two thirds of the entire junior class studies abroad during that semester. I was able to go to the University of Wollongong in Wollongong, Australia for six months and it was an amazing experience. The study abroad program is not required to graduate, but it a great opportunity for anyone who wishes to do so. At most universities, it is very difficult to get involved in research as an undergrad. At DU, research positions are still competitive but they are available. For anyone applying to graduate level programs in the medical field, having some sort of research on your application is a huge advantage. I was able to do research on Parkinsons disease, and my name was even published on a paper that I helped with. Not everyone who does research gets published, but it goes to show what kind of opportunities are available at the school. The University of Denver prepared me well for the challenges of dental school. I had great experiences in extracurricular activities, study abroad and research. DU offers so much that every persons experience is unique. I think that DU is a great university because it has many opportunities for its students to be successful."

"If you enjoy thinking about social work, learning clinical skills, or otherwise just quality education then avoid coming to DU for your MSW. It's dramatically overpriced and the "value" of this education isn't even close to as much as you pay to go here. Go to a state school. If you apply and don't get into one on your first cycle...apply again. DO NOT GET AN MSW AT A PRIVATE SCHOOL. Especially not DU...they are looking to indoctrinate you into their way of thinking about social work. Any deviation is not accepted. Avoid at all costs."

"This program has a nice integration of both clinical and non-clinical psychology/development work. I enjoyed the professors and faculty that are a part of the program as well. The opportunities that are available through this program are fantastic, and I feel confident going into my career having this program attached to my name."

"I have so enjoyed my time at the University of Denver, which is why I applied and am considering continuing on to pursue my doctorate degree through the same program. I began my masters in International Disaster Psychology in September of 2015 after deciding that I wanted to pursue a career in global mental health. Through the program I have been able to experience excellent internship opportunities, most notably an international internship in Cambodia over the summer. This experience was so eye opening to me and gave me first hand, practical experience of what global mental health work is like. I would suggest this program to anyone who is interested in studying mental health in a capacity that is a bit "out of the box" and who desires to focus on a more systems level approach in their graduate studies."

"University of Denver is a fantastic academic school. It has an amazing campus and continuously has so many activities going on around or at the university. The educators are fantastic and those in student services could not be more helpful! I am so grateful for the opportunity that I had to attend there. My undergraduate degree was influential in helping me continue my education in graduate school in which I am attending currently."

"The graduate programs offered by the University of Denver are extremely rigorous, and competitive. The quarter versus semester system really threw me for a loop, and being on a quarter system is difficult to adapt to at first. However, professors understand this. Most of the professors in the Josef Korbel School of International Studies, which is where my classes took place and is the graduate program I can speak on, are willing to work with you and share their knowledge. I have overwhelming admiration for the feats and accomplishments that all of our professors, faculty, and staff have on their resumes. There are many internship and career opportunities that stem from the programs offered at the University of Denver, and everyone is always willing to work with you to find what is perfect for you. Going to DU for my Master's Degree was honestly not only the best decision for my education, but also one of the best decisions I have ever made; it opened me to a new world, new people, perspectives, and experiences that I otherwise would have never had."

"The University of Denver offers a variety of opportunities for students of all backgrounds. Policies of inclusion and aims of creating a more diverse institution make the University a beacon of hope and prosperity for all Americans with aspirations of higher education. Wrought with opportunity to engage with, and participate in, on-campus dialog and thought-provoking discussions, the campus also has experiential learning environments that encourage growth and interaction amongst peers and colleagues. And if the city is too much for you at times then the school is only a short drive away from adventure on the unbeaten mountain path."

"I finished the graduate certificate program for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) via University College @ University of Denver. For the 48-credit online track for the Master of Science in Geographic Information Systems, the 24-credit certificate program counts and serves as the halfway point. I am giving my review based on what I've experienced at the University of Denver so far in the graduate certificate program, served out of a different department than the actual graduate school. This experience, coupled with conclusions drawn from more than one person in my professional network of geospatial industry professionals who has obtained the MS-GIS from the University of Denver, provides a solid basis for my review. I also write knowing full well that higher level of intensity and difficultly inherent in the six core classes in the MS-GIS program that I have yet to finish. First and foremost, the MS-GIS program at the University of Denver is rated the third best graduate program in the United States for this discipline. The program continues to remain within the top five or ten GIS graduate programs across nation year after year. This higher status is consistently attained by this university for very valid and credible reasons, most likely obtained via well-rounded research, statistical analysis, etc. Hence, this continues to be true, over time and even over and above anything I have to say in this review. My understanding of the quality of instruction in the MS-GIS program is that it is of great caliber. The head of the department, Steven Hicks, has been in his position over the department and the program for a long time. I definitely believe he chooses his faculty carefully and well. This leads to instruction that not only challenges students and makes them grow, but also, naturally in the process of being stretched in their intellect, provides them with diversity in their knowledge base and ability to directly apply their skills in the field. Naturally, this statement also indicates greater rigor in the curriculum, a very positive thing. The University of Denver prides itself on diversity. Both in terms of the wider range of industries that my classmates were in and their varying cultural backgrounds, I saw this among those with whom I completed online classes. This statement is really saying something, as this is not always particularly noticed in an ONLINE class. Campus Safety at the University of Denver is excellent. Their emergency notification system is very rapid and alerts students of safety/security situations on campus, even if the incident turns out to not be that major. They don't mess around or just assume that an incident is minor at the outset. The safety-and-security personnel definitely adopt the attitude that any incident, if not properly flagged and attended to with proper protocol in the beginning, could easily and quickly turn into a major ordeal. With regards to earning potential, being prepared for further career advancement, and satisfaction with the degree, I have absolutely not doubt that the MS-GIS program at the University of Denver will check out high in all three of these areas. Every MS-GIS I have talked to within my professional circles speaks very strongly and exuberantly about the program in these aspects. I also already know from the student experience I have had at the University of Denver so far that the networking opportunities and quality of career advising available via this institution is incredible and quite vibrant."

"The University of Denver's Josef Korbel School of International Studies is a truly rigorous institution, primarily focused on an education for practitioners of international studies. The Office of Career and Professional Development Services is extraordinarily well-connected, and is effective at getting students connected with profitable, advancing internships in their chosen fields. The coursework is rigorous, and the instructors are passionate and available. The only aspect of the institution that I find mildly unsatisfactory is the low-level of diversity of the student body; however, the individuals in my cohort do boast a great deal of international experience in the military or within service and social justice organizations like the peace corps, which helps to offset this shortcoming. Overall, I strongly recommend the University of Denver's Josef Korbel School to perspective international studies graduate students."

"My time at DU was a struggle. I often regret going to a school that cost so much, and thus led to a large amount of student loan debt. Most people I knew left with more debt than they could ever realistically pay back and no immediate job prospects. It took me two years to find a job in international education and I am only now starting to make a dent in my debt. This is a joint degree program, meaning I took classes in International Studies and Media, Film, and Journalism Studies. My IS classes had the semblance of being practical, whereas my MFJS classes were overwhelmingly theory-based. I don't believe the program is focused enough on practical education and gaining the skills needed to be competitive in the job market. I did meet some amazing people who will hopefully be lifelong friends, but overall my graduate school experience was disappointing."
