"I love the sociology program at the University of Houston - Clear Lake. The program is relatively small, and I have made true friends within the program. I do not feel stereotyped or judged, and classmates make the effort to make sure I am doing okay. My professors are top notch, and I learn much more than just textbook answers from my professors. They are not just my professors, but my mentors. The University of Houston - Clear Lake has given me the best education, and I thank the university, administration, and faculty for that."

"I am new to the graduate program, but I know several people who got a good education at UHCL and are now working at local colleges. The instructors will take the time to guide you towards successful completion of your goals. This school is aimed at students who are employed full time and are mostly taking night classes to improve their job skills. The teachers are flexible. The only con is that there are sometimes not enough choices of the classes needed in the best time for my schedule. However, I make it work."

"The pros of taking the master in HRM is that the program is entirely online which makes it flexible for people who work or/and have a family. However as a graduate program do not expect the workload to be minimal. Due to the fact that it is entirely online their is so much content to get through before classes actually begin so it is always wise to get familiar with the syllabus ahead of time."

"My graduate program is an amazing program. This classes and professors are very helpful. I have learned a lot in the short time I have been there. But they do not have connections in corporate health like I had hoped. They also lack scholarships for graduate students."

"The pros of the graduate program includes the flexibility of courses as needed with the full-time job. As compared to the other universities, the cost of education is competitive. The cons are the lack of social programs. The timing and the organization of the social events limits the events to students who live nearby; thus, the chances of networking are few."

"The faculty are the best part. The faculty are connected to the local school districts and provide very real and practical activities to promote your job prospects in the future. The graduate programs also prepare you quite well for entry into a more rigorous doctoral program anywhere in the country. The school is growing and will eventually feel more social than it has in the past."

"I have just begun my graduate studies at UHCL, but I know this is the school of my dreams! Even though I have not been able to afford much of anything, I am determined to stay in school (no matter how far in debt I go)."

"My graduate program in General Psychology is great for students wishing to pursue teaching or higher educational degrees. The professors are very available to their students and offer help in not only content area but career and program direction. The only cons I can think of are the limited number of professors in certain content areas and certain classes only being offered in Spring and Fall. Summer term class availability would be helpful for many courses."

"In this specific program, they are working to be CACREP certified, keeping up with national standards for counselors. The professors all have experience that is essential for the classroom, allowing students to learn from more than just a textbook."

"I feel that the professors are extremely accessible when it comes to answering questions. The school is pretty far away so the commute is long and at times it is difficult to get in touch with the professor or meet at specific times due to working full time while attending school."

"The school more than adequately prepares students for a career in school counseling or as LPCs. They have fantastic faculty who have practiced in the fields they teach for many years. The work load is heavy but 100% necessary to be able to jump in to a career as a counselor."

"I was very pleased to find that UHCL offers a Bilingual Counseling Certification that is combined with their School Counseling MS. In addition, if I choose to get my LPC, I can because those courses have already been incorporated into the my current graduation plan. The professors are amazing and are genuinely caring and helpful. It has been a great experience so far and the training has been invaluable. The hands on activities and the chosen course books have really developed my counseling skills. I would recommend this Graduate Program to anyone."

"There are so many great classes coming from all 4 of the University's schools (Business, Comm., Humanities, Education) DMST students can select from each group to create a unique degree plan that can anchor their career objectives in a way that no other school can match. With this being said I wish there was more freedom in selecting which classes you can take instead of setting a maximum number per section."
