"The University of Kentucky's online Library and Information Science program exceeded all of my expectations. I pursued my undergrad in a traditional classroom environment, so I was nervous and skeptical about pursuing a degree online. However, with a full-time job I felt this was my best option. I could not have made a better decision. The administrators of the program are engaging and helpful, always returning questions within a day. The professors I have studied under are extremely knowledgable, I truly feel as if I am learning from some of the best scholars in my field. While distance learning takes a period of adjustment, and is quite different from a classroom experience, I cannot recommend the University of Kentucky higher in their ability to adapt and cater to their students needs."

"An amazing school with exciting opportunities. A very affordable distance-learning program for Library Science master's students, as each student enrolled entirely online pays in-state tuition (regardless of state residency status). The ability to network with professors, instructors, and classmates is there, but you have to seek out those opportunities. The program is great for those working PT or FT and can be finished in as little as 36 hours."

"The Library and Information Sciences degree at UK is excellent. In addition to the core classes, I felt like there was a lot of support and tailoring to the specific type of library I wanted to work in, but also enough general instruction that I would feel comfortable in any situation I choose after graduation. It's one of the reasons I chose the University of Kentucky's ALA accredited program."

"My experience in the graduate program at UK has been less stressful than other educational experiences. Faculty have been great assets due to their willingness to help and expertise. I love the campus--it's beautiful!--and the campus atmosphere. I am excited to some day being a graduate of UK!"

"Pros: The MLIS program is available online for distance learners. This school does not charge out-of-state tuition for online distance learners. The program is ALA accredited. Cons: Online discussions can sometimes be boring or irrelevant to the course. No practicum"
