"It is a big school, and you get what you make of it. It's easy to sit in the back of the lecture hall and never participate. I'm sure there are opportunities to take small class and engage with professors, should you choose to."

"I think this graduate program is in a great location, readily accessible to health resources in the Baltimore area as well as plenty of activities to participate in outside of school. The quality of this program is tremendous, and the investment the faculty place in the students is overwhelming. Negatively, depending on where you live in the city the safety is not always the best but definitely something you can avoid by choosing good housing options."

"I knew I wanted to come to this school the moment I interviewed. The work being performed here is diverse and in depth. The Professors work interdisciplinary, and are very involved in the research and work or mentees."

"I just completed my first semester at the University of Maryland School of Social Work, and found it to be both competitive and challenging. However, the surrounding area is very dangerous, and students could use much more support, especially financially."

"The faculty are absolutely the best! They truly care about you and help you to understand that you don't have to be competitive anymore because we are all reaching for the same goal. They honestly want you to succeed."

"This is a great program (residency) with a strong history in the roots of dentistry. My program is very good but expects a lot of self-motivated learning. Formal lectures are rare but welcome source of information. For the most part, the student must learn by doing, so the residency is more of an "apprenticeship". Enjoy all of the faculty and co-residents though."

"The Pathologists' Assistant program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore is made of up approximately 10 students and has no staff devoted 100% of the time to the program. The small class size is definitely a pro. The much lower cost of attendance compared to all other PathA programs makes up for lack of a full time staff member, and all of the faculty are very supportive! Baltimore itself is a pro (many great area hospitals to train at) and a con (some unsafe neighborhoods close to campus)."

"The University of Maryland, Baltimore is strategically located about an hour away from the nation’s health policy-making epicenter. There is a vast amount of resources available to students who are interested in conducting in-depth evidence-based research, lobbying to change policies, or engaging in social justice issues and/or public service. The academic opportunities are ubiquitous. You just have to dig for those resources and network as much as possible. I will say that I don't think this institution is as globally minded as it could be. The Center for Global Education has endeavored to create more global opportunities for those who intended to work internationally."

"The University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy is an excellent program that is tailored to the students. The staff and fellow administration are friendly, accommodating, and will often go above and beyond to help the students. There are also many organizations that encourage students to become involved outside of school and to network with health care providers. The University of Maryland curriculum makes sure that students are prepared for the clinical/retail pharmacy setting and encourages students to apply the education as competent providers in the pharmacy profession. The main "cons" of attending this school pertain to the surrounding area. Baltimore is not the safest of cities nor is it the cleanest. However, the security and transportation services do make up for this problem and their reliability is always top notch. Furthermore, Living expenses are high and it is often difficult to find a reasonably priced house or apartment."

"Good program in a bad area. The student population is not representative of the surrounding city. Program needs to stay innovative to keep up with other pharmacy schools and to make their graduates stand out."

"I loved the school and the teachers. The only thing lacking was organization in the administrative side. There were always issues with registering for classes or anything that involved paper (which I don't know why everything isn't automated in 2014). It's a manageable hurdle, but definitely requires a lot of active follow up on the part of the student."

"The great thing about Maryland SOM is the excellent student body, Baltimore itself is really to its great advantage and disadvantage is that there are a lot of low income and repressed people in a small space which means a great medical education serving them, it does however mean you have to live among them as well."

"The program itself is wonderful. Every professor I've had is passionate and knowledgeable about the field of Social Work. My professors have utilized school technology to make learning more convenient. I'm able to utilize blackboard to chat with classmates, turn in assignments and see my grades. My professors have offered tests and quizzes on blackboard that instantly give me my grade back. The only cons I have, are not about the actual program. The campus is located in downtown Baltimore, which is not the safest area. I get alerts multiple times each week about crimes committed near the campus and I can't walk to my car alone at night. The school has taken steps to offer free police escorts for students to help the safety issue."
