"The school professes against discrimination but practices it as it upholds the privileged status-quo. The school sets students up for failure in their classes and field placements by overburdening them and sending them into poorly screened unsafe environments. The school is located in a dangerous neighborhood, where shootings and muggings are commonplace. The school does not take complaints seriously and has a tendency to discredit and sweep concerns under the rug, and blame the person making the complaint. Students are cliquish and this makes it difficult to network and develop supports for success."

"At the time I studied nursing, University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) was one of the top baccalaureate programs in the country according to the National League of Nurses. I moved from Pennsylvania to Maryland and relocated to attend school. I even waited a year, as I was accepted, but the class was full until the following year. University of Maryland School of Nursing prepared me well. I ventured into critical care with ease. At that time, I was employed by Johns Hopkins Hospital. They had an eight week orientation program for critical care that was pass or fail. I passed orientation, which allowed me to start intensive care nursing in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. That was the start of my critical care career, that lasted 20 years. University of Maryland School of Nursing prepared me to move onto and work in one of the best institutions in the world. I am proud to say University of Maryland School of Nursing is still at the forefront of nursing education. Clinical simulation labs are state of the art in areas of hospital, critical care, operating room, pediatrics, maternity, home care and health assessment settings. The program prepared me well for the demands of my career. Currently, I returned for a graduate program in nursing informatics, and it still remains one of the best programs in the country. I feel fortunate to be a part of its legacy as University of Maryland School of Nursing was founded in 1889 by Louisa Parsons, a graduate of the Nightingale Fund School at St. Thomas' Hospital in London."

"The law school offers 3 degrees (JD, LLM, and MSL) and I was an MSL student. The MSL students are definitely treated like second class citizens. In fact, most of our classes did not even take place at the law school --- they took place at another location and that in and of itself was very disappointing. One of the reasons I enrolled in an in-person class was so I could be part of the community. It's really hard to be part of the community if you're not actually in the community. I anticipated meeting fellow students at the school before classes over a coffee to network with and discuss classes. Except for a couple occurrences, we were never actually at the law school. One of the Dean's talks down about the MSL program which is not confidence inspiring. I did think that some of the professors were very good and am glad for that. At commencement, there are no honors or awards for the MSL students -- unlike the JD students who receive all sorts of honors, awards, cum laude, summa cum laude etc.. Overall, I learned a lot, but was still very disappointed in the program."

"I am in the MBA program at the satellite campus in Baltimore. I have found that the various locations are extremely convenient and they offer lots of online options within the program as well. Kerrie and Ashley are the two program managers, who are always readily available to help. I am impressed that one of them is always there until 10 pm when classes are finished!"

"In the MSL program, the professors from the Law school and CHHS were strong, the students brought diverse perspectives and the content was immediately applicable and beneficial to my professional work. A deep knowledge of the changing legal and regulatory environment in my capstone area of automotive / Internet of Things (IoT) cybersecurity brought a book deal, membership in industry groups, meetings in Detroit, Silicon Valley, on Capitol Hill and lead to new clients. I highly recommend the program."

"University of Maryland Baltimore was a great school. The classes and professors taught me a lot. There were also good opportunities for internships, where I learned a lot as well. The tuition was also a good price for the education."

"The Part-Time MBA program at The University of Maryland Smith Business School is a fantastic bang for your buck. The professors are top notch and search for opportunities to share their real-world experiences with students. Students are engaged and actively looking to network with one another. The program is flexible and allowed me to continue my career while working towards the goal of getting an MBA."

"My time at Maryland was a wonderful experience. I loved the fact that the vast size of the university afforded me the opportunity to explore a variety of fields, yet when I honed in on what I wanted to study, I was able to find a close-knit, smaller community that made it feel like home."

"I'm currently enrolled in the School of Social Work at the University of Maryland - Baltimore campus. The classes are obtainable. If you're on a 3 or 4 year track, you can take the first 2 semesters slow and work full time while you're in school. Field placements aren't very flexible around a work schedule, though. The teachers are great - super knowledgable. The students are pretty smart but not very challenging. I get it, we're all liberal social workers... but no one here is pushing my views are forcing me to see the opposite (conservative) socio-political viewpoints."

"I am attending the University as an international student so my review will be based on that experience. As an international student I can say that the Masters program is great, the curriculum and the work is rigorous since it is only for 9 months. I will have learnt so much about U.S. Law in those 9 months. There are great resources on campus to be utilized. However, on the downside, most professors do not consider international students when teaching, as long as you are in a class you are treated as if you are aware of American history and certain customs. The style of teaching is also different, but you get used to it. The students are not friendly to international students, so if anyone is looking to make friends or connections here, forget it. Strictly academics."

"University of Maryland is a wonderful program. They care about their students and want them to succeed. The CRNA program is rigorous, but the tough nature of the studies is essential for success in the profession. The approximation to local hospitals ensures quality and accurate instruction."

"It is a very large campus with students from all backgrounds. This school, due to its size is easy to lose yourself in and those from smaller towns or with retiring personalities may do just that. UMD is a party school, so if you like to party this may be the school for you. As to academics they have many wonderful educators available in many and diverse subjects on campus. As Maryland is a Southern State the weather is more moderate than severe, and usually quite enjoyable."
