"I hate this place. Lousy professors, vindictive administrators, and poorly run MLIS program. They claim they stand for diversity and inclusion, unless you have a disability. I withdrew and entered a better program in Boston. Stay away. Not worth the grief."

"I love the flexibility of the program, with courses offered in person and online. The faculty are generally very supportive as well. The downside to me, is that while this degree is useful for my career goals, not a lot of the coursework is very practical. It does seem to be shifting, but a lot of the very hands on extra-curricular's, etc. are difficult to participate in as a part-time student who works full-time."

"My program is 100% online. I cannot adequately rate the campus safety, social life, surround area, and transportation. However, I do get safety alerts through my email about events in the area that students should be aware about. Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience thus far. Of course tuition could be lower, but considering I am an out-of-state student, the cost is expected."

"I had excellent experience with professors' response times, with one exception of a person who was teaching from Berkeley and did not seem to care about our particular class in Maryland. Some classes are definitely worth the money, such as the public library seminar and the core for serving information needs, but others suffer from either professors not caring, not knowing how to interact with students properly online, lecturing on ambiguous concepts that have almost no bearing on real life, or just not caring enough to ensure that students are learning something new and applicable. There is a great positive side to the program in the way you are mentally prepared for the field, but it lacks in practical application education. I look forward to the field study, and hope to take classes that would make me more prepared to actually work in a library, not just have the right mindset. I do also have to say that there is a great number of guest talks, seminars, and resume workshops that help enrich the experience, especially if you are near campus. The program coordinators are really great, so they do make everything a little easier and a little more pleasant for you."
