"Terrible this is my second university. I had two classes to finish at my other university when I had to up root my family. There are no advisors to help with uww as far as getting a clear to sign up for classes and it's not straight forward. You want know what classes you need to sign up for or what number to put in to have it signed up if you have not used the system. Expect someone to over talk you tell you that you dont need help dispite never using their complicated online system and to be hung up on. They are very rude the receptionist mispronounced my name at least 5 times completely different and was completely confused by my simple requests. It's been the oddest experience I've never had just trying to get my classes put in for next semester. I'm contemplating leaving the college."

"The University of Massachusetts Amherst has a great campus community, as well as a multitude of clubs and organizations to take part in. With the nation's #1 dining, it is a wonderful and supportive university to find the true college experience. With the Hospitality and Tourism Management track, students gain hands-on experience in the field with courses designed for practical application, such as managing, and being a part of a restaurant team. We were also given advice by professors' personal experiences in the field, which can be both enlightening and inspiring. The HTM department is now, also, in the New Isenberg building! Within Sociology, we find a wide array of interest and topics for classes. These subjects often opened my mind up to perspectives and considerations that I never acknowledged before."

"Fantastic experience. I can't say enough good things about this program and the faculty. Administration could be slow at times but I was always able to get any issue taken care of in the end. Faculty was very supportive and very knowledgeable. One professor who taught an entrepreneurship class was really great. The commitment that UMass has made to education and access has really paid off in my opinion. This is the best value for a highly regarded university I know of. The great reputation and great reviews are spot on. Would do it again in a heartbeat!"

"UMASS Amherst was a great, affordable college experience that I would recommend to any Massachusetts residents. The academics are great, as is the on-campus life in general. Although it is a large campus, there are plenty of opportunities for more intimate learning and bonding with different study sessions and clubs. Amherst is a cute town and provides an environment for students to enjoy life outside of the classroom."

"I went to the University of Massachusetts because I was able to play soccer there as well as study at a top university. As a student-athlete, I had a great experience playing but the best was attending the renowned Isenberg School of Management, a business innovation hub. I liked UMass Amherst for both the number and the depth of its programs. UMass offers a great environment to study and have extracurricular activities. Lately, UMass has quickly been climbing the rankings for all subject areas, especially business. I was aided in finding my courses of study by helpful academic advisors and I had flexibility of moving between majors and minors as I studied International Business with a minor in Sports Management and I also earned a Certificate in Latin American Studies. When I visited campus during my recruiting trip, I spoke with the professors from the School of Management department and was so excited by the many opportunities that the department offers. I also felt like western Massachusetts has a very different environment from where I live. Miamis metropolitan area can be very fast-paced and commuting daily can be intense. I was ready for a place thats a bit more laid-back, and Amherst totally fits the bill. Another important aspect is as far as absurdly expensive American universities goes, UMass Amherst is on the lower end on the spectrum of absurdity. Therefore, to sum up, UMass is a great school always a lot going on with many events. Food is amazing. Great campus and great bus system. Pretty much every store you could ever want to go to 5 minutes away. Library is awesome."

"UMass Amherst was an amazing experience. I obtained my degree online, but I never felt like I was cheated at all out of a great education. I feel like I received an amazing education and was supported all the way to the end. There was always someone there to help me either over the phone or through email. The teachers and other students were wonderful to work with and I feel the education that I received has prepared me for my journey through grad school and gave me the tools that I need to be successful."

"UMASS is consistently ranked around 75th, which I accepted for their MPH program even though I was more accustomed to much more highly ranked schools. My experience was the quality was extremely low, certainly the lowest that I've encountered in 20 years of higher education. First, the positives, the program chairperson was an unusually kind and thoughtful man; however, it appeared he had created neither quality nor consistency standards for the other instructors nor reviewed their work or qualifications. Half of my instructors were academically well qualified but either completely disinterested in teaching, incompetent at teaching or both. The courses were designed and delivered in ways that were completely inconsistent with graduate education in anyone of half-a-dozen other schools where I've completed classes or worked. The staff member managing the program when I was there had never been to a school other than UMASS (a large public state university) but claimed her courses were the same quality as the Ivy Leagues. Having studied at numerous Ivy Leagues, this statement and perception was extraordinarily incorrect and ill-informed. They were allergic to feedback, extremely defensive, unprofessional, and rude. Moreover, looking around online at the various sites that allow students to rate their professors with specific scoring rubrics and explanations, it appears no one at UMASS ever checked these before hiring their instructors because some of those UMASS has even put into leadership positions have specific, factual, horrific reviews over years -- one case an instructor leading one program has ONLY ever received negative reviews. I don't know how competitive UMASS was to get into; however, my feedback would be that until the whole curricula, personnel, and pedagogy is over-hauled and organized, I would only attend UMASS if you have no other choice."

"UMass Amherst is a great school to attend. I decided this major late, and the undergraduate advisor was so helpful. She told me all the classes I needed to take and was always there to help with any questions. She never made me feel like a burden. Would recommend this major to other!"

"The University of Massachusetts - Amherst campus is located in Western Massachusetts, in a quaint town close to Northampton. There are many colleges in the area and the option to meet students from other colleges are plenty. The campus is home to over 20,000 students and provides great sports facilities as well as host concerts and shows regularly. It is also close to Vermont if you enjoy hiking and skiing. The rolling hills are great for cycling. I spent 2 great years there and would highly recommend."

"My experience at UMass Amherst was incredibly well rounded. My instructors were extremely dedicated to teaching not only about the class the were teaching but also about relevant material from the industry and their labs. Studying chemistry at any institution is challenging in and of itself but having the instructors and lab resources that were offered to us at UMass set the bar for preparing me for a future in STEM."

"At the University of Massachusetts, the paths to success are endless. I had the opportunity to study in the school of nursing, and I can honestly say they preparation I received put me miles ahead of my peers when starting my career. Small class sizes, professors invested in our futures, and all the resources we need to be successful within the walls of this beautiful campus."

"I think it's important for students to go. Educationally I think it helps improve their intellect and critical thinking skills. Also, it develops their social skills, which I think it is healthy and necessary before they go out in the world."

"College should be thought of as an investment. Ask yourself, "will this investment yield a return that is sufficient to cover the cost of obtaining the degree?" Unfortunately, the days of everyone going to college for the learning and life experience are numbered. College can be a $100k+ investment that you will be paying off for a significant portion of your life. Make sure you choose the right major and network with the right people to obtain a job that will result in you paying off your debt after you graduate."

"Phenomenal diversity of people and thought. Worked on campus in legal services, best experience of my college career to meet new students each semester on internships. It shaped my openness to others opinions, lifestyles and aspirations. I did not live on campus but this kept me close to the culture and everyday life of UMass"

"A large research institute with a concentrations in anything (you can create your own major) and everything, University Of Massachusetts is what you make it. The benefits of going to Umass is that if you are ever bored, it's your own fault. I myself was fortunate to win the Umass Innovation challenge, and by doing so won the seed money for my first company. This is just one example out of the many resources that, if you take advantage of, can change your life. No one is going to hold your hand, but the opportunity you want is there."
