Don’t get screwed like I did.

"I’m only writing this in the hope that I can help someone not hate a substantial part of two years of their life like I did going through The University of Miami Online MBA program. This program charges a lot of money. Yet, all of the course material is 10 years old. The courses are never updated. The effort put into this is none. Like some test questions are blank- you just have to pick A,B,C,D. I brought it up, and a student behind me also received a blank question. The professors don’t respond to emails for days or at all. When they grade a paper, it will be after the next assignment is due. You can’t fix anything based on the last grade. This makes sense because they only give you a 90/100 or whatever. No explanation. They have no integrity. What is the morality in trapping someone into a program? You can’t transfer all your credits to a new program. Considering time and money, students aren’t going to transfer to a new program. I thought about it, but the costs were too high. So, we all just finished, even though Pretty much everyone I know thinks the program sucks. You get more attentiveness and quality from elementary school teachers. If you are thinking about this program, run!!! Run as fast as you can somewhere else. Anywhere. My only other suggestion would to be pick some place close to you. At least you’ll be able to drive to the teachers office when they don’t return your emails."

"After serving over 12 years in the Navy, and contracting for another 4 years, serving in Afghanistan, I quickly realized how much an advanced degree would help me in my future. I've always wanted to consult and teach, and many organizations want their trainers to have advanced and terminal degrees. When I was looking for schools to go to, part of what drew me to the University of Miami was the process of enrollment and recruiting. The on campus visit was one of the best experiences that I had experienced academically, with knowledge being shared during the presentation. The admissions office staff were more than helpful, as well as the academic advisers. The VA department is exceptional in the way they handle veterans benefits. The instruction is top notch with many of the professors, writing the books that are used in the courses. Above all, even as an online student, I've always felt as being part of the student body and not just a tuition check. I love UM!"

"The University of Miami is a well respected institution and AACSB-accredited in business. Pursuing an MBA degree from UM is giving me the opportunity for career advancement to attain my goals. I will be learning to master the fundamentals, identify leadership strengths, and think strategically using quantitative data. These are the skills that would give me value to strive for a bigger stake in an organization. The program is online which provides flexibility and is taught by high caliber instructors. According to Forbes, UM ranks #62 in the nation for Best Business' Schools."

"Look at college as an investment. If your NPV is above the benchmark, which U of M is, then do it."

"College allows you to have a great personal experience. If you are considering becoming a professional such as an engineer, lawyer, physician or any other health professional it is a great investment because it is needed. However there is so much to learn that colleges don't teach you, especially if you would like to be an entrepreneur"

"I believe that the University of Miami has many pros. Some of them being a diverse student body and faculty. The people that attend the University of Miami are very smart and dilligent and it has been a great experience so far. I believe by networking with these individuals and with the support of the University of Miami faculty, that a student can accomplish whatever they desire in their career path. Some of the cons of the program are the costs associated with the program and the fact that they do not have scholarships or grants for graduate programs."

"I am taking the Executive MBA in Healthcare administration. It is a very unique field of study and we are lucky to have experts in the field of Healthcare policy, management, and economics to lecture us. Overall it is a very good program that keeps you very involved in healthcare discussions and lectures."

"Amazing program. Professors are extremely knowledgable and at the forefront of research. Only negative comment is the fast-pace sometimes feels as if we're missing depth. However, it is exactly what is meant by an Executive MBA. I am specifically in the off-campus Puerto Rico program which is tremendous since the professors go out of their way to apply the principles to our economic situation and experience. Highly recommend this program. Do not hesitate to sign up. You will not regret the investment in yourself!"
