"It's a lovely experience. * Faculty is very supportive. *Good career opportunities. *Friendly atmosphere. *Good infrastructure. *Ample Library resources. But the surroundings are not very safe. Everyone should be little careful."

"U of M - Flint's graduate program of Mathematics is quite good. Most of the professors are very helpful, and take the time to assist the student in learning the material outside of the classroom. The classes are about right in what someone would consider to be graduate level material: requiring plenty of studying on material that was not presented in class, to encourage the student to learn on their own. It is also the most affordable graduate program I could find, but that isn't saying much. Small class sizes with plenty of one-on-one with the professors. All-in-all, it is a very good program, with some great teachers, and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else."

"This graduate program is essential for someone who is seeking a career as a college level professor. There are other great programs that are available for students who are transitioning from undergraduate to seeking their Doctorate degree as well. I haven't found any cons to this program."

"University of Michigan-Flint is temple of learning where all the faculty are very much supportive and helping students to reach their goal. However, the campus life is pleasant but the surrounding atmosphere is not safe. The public safety is good but still have some blind holes where it's not safe."

"At U of M Flint, my facilitators have been accessible at all times for advising and for support with the coursework. I've grown to have great relationships with all of my professors. My only complaint for the school is having to call in to different departments and getting "the run around," before an issue can be resolved but I had that same experience in undergrad at EMU so I guess it just comes with the territory. Thats my complaint. On the upside, this pass summer I was able to study abroad in Beijing, China as part of a teacher intership program. This experience has forever changed me as an educator and gives me a better perspective of teaching throughout the world."

"Safety and security in the surrounding areas for a student to move alone is low. Studies, the faculty and the library are good. The cost of living is a bit high. Getting a chance to go for graduation is a boon for me and I want to utilize it to the maximum. I need too be extra careful and cautious in all the aspects when i am in this town."

"The major con to this school is that there is not a lot of financial help available from the school. Graduate students do not have much opportunity to receive financial assistance."

"The Physical Therapy Program at the University of Michigan-Flint is very competitive and the quality of education is excellent. Almost all students pass their board exams on the first try, unless there are extenuating circumstances (health reasons etc.). The faculty in the department prepare us to be excellent physical therapists!"

"I commute to U of MFlint to save money, so the surrounding areas and social aspects are limited for me. Otherwise, the faculty are knowledgeable and helpful, coursework is very interesting and has a good level of challenge without being overwhelming. The instructors are knowledgeable and most work in the field while teaching. This brings a real life feel to the coursework because information can readily be discussed in terms of current clinic issues. I have learned an incredible amount in a short time, and look forward to a great education in the coming years."

"I think that if there were more people living near campus and together that there would be a better connect between students as well as between students and professors."

"The staff and faculty of the Biology department are very approachable. They specialize in a wide range of research interests given the size of the institution. There are many research resources and instruments, and opportunities for internal funding. The cons have to do with the surrounding community. While the university is actively reaching out to the community, and developing the surrounding area, the infrastructure is poor and there is an abnormal rate of violent crime. However, the campus very safe, and the immediate area surrounding it is ripe with progressive businesses."

" I am able to take my classes remotely or attend class depending on my work and life schedule. This is convenient because I have a full time job and I also have 3 children. Currently I do not have cons about my graduate programs."

"Great faculty that is now in transition with several professors leaving for various reasons. Flint isn't as dangerous as statistics would make you think. Campus security is great and the program does a great job of bringing in outside minds that are more specialized of offer a different point of view. Leads to a well rounded experience."
