"I was an online student through UNK for 2 semesters. I did not feel any sort of academic support during my time as a UNK student. Professors, advisors, and other staff all seemed cold and unhelpful. I strongly recommend going elsewhere. I had to switch back to my old college where I’m happily finishing my MA degree."

"I was incredibly happy with my experience with the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Working full-time, the online courses provided me with the opportunity to complete my Master's degree while working full-time."

"I do not live in the area, so I can not attest to the on campus experience, but I have been very impressed with their online program. First off, it was one of the more affordable, but still respectable online programs for M.A. history that I could find. Also my workload (especially the assigned material) has been comparable to what my friends are doing in on campus programs at other schools, and most of the professors are very involved with the online process (lecture notes, discussion, detailed grading feedback). Unfortunately, I have had one professor who was not very active in the class (mostly, just assigning work). That is the only con I can think of. Overall, this program is great for anyone who may be working or has other full time responsibilities (like parenthood). Great program-highly recommend!"

"UNK is the greatest school; the faculty and staff are so supportive of the students and the classes are amazing. As an out-of-state distance student, my tuition costs half of the amount that I would pay if I attended an on-campus in-state college.UNK is ranked in the top 15 universities in the country and they deserve the recognition. As for cons, there are occasional technical glitches with Blackboard Learn but the problems are quickly rectified."

"I gave an average rating to the on campus areas, I don't go on campus so I can't fairly grade those areas. The availability to take classes online makes it easier to fit the class work in to a work schedule. There is good feedback from many people in the online forums, but you will find people who you avoid their posts and avoid your posts mostly because of political differences. However all in all it is a good program with diversity of opinion and good give and take."
