"Overall, my experience at the University of Nebraska at Omaha was positive. It is a commuter school so you still get a feeling of a larger university (enrollment is about 20,000), but without the fratty, party vibe. There are a multitude of degree offerings as well as school organizations to join and participate in. For my first semester I was rather unfocused in the courses I took and the atmosphere felt cold. Once I got more involved in my department, I felt very welcomed and accepted. I majored in Sociology and I found the faculty and staff to be very informed and had worked in their line of study passionately. It was within these courses and interaction with the professors that I found my own passion for social issues. They provided a safe space for me to grow not only as a student but as a human and citizen of the world. On a side note, parking is always going to be an issue. It is over priced and if you buy a parking pass, you are not guaranteed a spot. There are shuttles that run from other lots nearby and you can ride that for free. I would recommend this if you do not want to dish out a few hundred bucks for a parking pass on campus."

"The University of Nebraska at Omaha is truly a place to call home. Between student involvement, friendly atmosphere and school pride, there is no doubt a new freshman or an adult learner would find this place remarkable. The campus is student focused and their biggest desire is to see students succeed."

"It was a small enough college that all of your professors knew you by name. I felt I was given a wonderful opportunity to work in a small group environment while learning."

"The personal attention and connections I made with my professors has carried on beyond just the classroom. Several I have become friends with. The course was challenging and demanded self-reflection and an active interest in the students I continued to work with in public education. I am seeking a second masters in Counseling/Student Affairs where my multi-cultural education and experiences can only help in guiding young adults of varied backgrounds to the goals and careers that interest and inspire them."

"UNO was a very good good to study Biology at for both undergraduate and masters students. The mentors there are of the highest quality and were able to set us up for future career opportunities. The science classes offered are high quality and professors go to great lengths to keep the curriculum up to date and practical. This is especially useful for this field where tech is constantly changing."

"University of Nebraska was a perfect school for someone who wants a small class at a university. I only had huge classes in my first couple of freshmen courses, then it went to 20-25 students. The greek life is a great place to get involved especially since you have to go to events. It is nice to be in greek because it gets you involved in other activities around school too."

"The University of Nebraska at Omaha is an excellent institution to gain invaluable skills in natural resource management. I experienced both a broad all encompassing education in the fauna (entomology, wildlife biology, aquatic ecology) as well as more specific courses in my main research interest of plant ecology. It's a diverse institution with numerous opportunities to experience student life as well as career exploration."

"The University of Nebraska at Omaha offers a fantastic Master's program in Exercise Science. I received my undergraduate at a larger university - and was more of a 'number' than a person to them. I did not know what it was like to have an advisor that actually cared about my success and well-being or to have professors actually want to meet and help their students. UNO made sure I was prepared for whatever path I decided to take after my Master's. On top of the standard curriculum I was provided with many opportunities to travel to national and international conferences which allowed me to network and better understand the field I was going in to. I would strongly recommend UNO for anyone interested in pursuing a graduate degree - which is why I decided to stick around for my PhD!"

"The University of Nebraska Omaha had a very good program for Management Information Systems. Most of the professors brought business experience to the classroom. The class sizes also weren't very large and the Omaha area offered a wide variety of opportunities for internships and to partner with local businesses."
