"The University of Nebraska at Omaha is/was an excellent school to attend. The curriculum was excellent with a variety of topics within the fields of Criminal Justice. A lot of our professors have written papers, essays, research papers, books and curriculum. The courses are very interesting with a lot of students going onto work with major crime departments around the country. The programs included fieldtrips to London, England one year for students to tour Scotland Yards and sit in on british class topics. Some of the professors work in corrections around the city and I personally got to have a lectured class at the Douglas County Corrections Facility, along with a tour. You can make excellent connections and get wonderful advice on the direction you want your career to go in. All in all, its a wonderful program, a wonderful school and was an excellent adventure to go through."

"Very highly recommend UNO for Computer Science / IS&T. The Peter Kiewit Institute on south campus is excellent and the courses you will take directly relate to what you'll need to know in the business. I work with many people with IT degrees and it's extremely apparent they did not receive the level of education provided to me at UNO."

"The pros of this graduate program is the quality of professor expertise in working in the public administration field. Many of the professors have worked in both administrative and field project initiatives and have practical expertise. A con of the graduate program is the ability to network and socialize with both fellow graduate students, alumni and community members. More emphasis could be placed on collaboration for research and community initiatives."

"The professors are enthusiastic and great teachers; the classes for this program are small and ideal for discussion based curriculum; there are a lot of available resources for research and study space on campus. This is more of a commuter school, so socializing and networking does not come as easily as at some other universities; depending on the time of day, parking can be very stressful; winter weather can be brutal for treks across campus."

"I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2011 with my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and Deaf Education. When I decided to get my master's degree in education, returning to UNO was an easy decision. The professors and advisors are dedicated to helping education students succeed and find job placements in their field. The only con I can point out for UNO is that it is located in Omaha, Nebraska. While the city is safe, there is not a lot to do socially so you have to be creative when getting together with friends!"

"Tell us about your college experience. It was a good fit, but I think I was a bit narrow minded at the time of enrollment. I think I would've done better in a different school in a different state.Would you get the same degree if you could start over?I would. I like the field I am in, and I think my degree helped me get into my career. What advice can you offer other students?Don't go to college right out of high school. Figure out exactly what you want to do, and then see what degree you want. Don't be afraid of technical school, either."

"The pros easily out weigh the cons. University of Nebraska at Omaha is centered in the middle of Omaha about 72nd and Dodge. This part of town is some what run-down. However, three miles each way it really becomes an absolutely beautiful city. Which can be seen as an advantage for cheaper living. The technology in school is disappointing. It's very unevenly distributed. Some of the buildings are the best in the nation with technology, while others are pathetic (slow internet, computer systems during the day barely function, and some buildings need to be updated desperately). As for the pros, The faculty, social life, transportation, affordability, and career centers are absolutely top notch. There is always e-mails going to students advising about internships and career opportunities. The student life is wonderful. Omaha is a very cheap city, and the tuition is also. There is never a dull night in Omaha, and the more involved you get with student life and social life the more Omaha opens it's arms to out-of-state students."
