"The psychology department acknowledges the diversity in the field, and teaches each school of thought, despite the behavioral program being what the school is known for. The political science department is good, but could benefit from an internship program. The tuition in the state is also remarkably low, and is also the best school in the state. Beautiful campus, increased efforts for creating a campus culture that keeps students engaged, really on the up and up."

"In the fall of 2013, I packed up my life into the trunk of my parents' car and we made the seven hour drive from Pahrump to Reno, NV. I came the this school with high expectations since it was a big city, a big school, and a chance of being somewhere where everyone did not know my name. I was giddy with excitement. That was a year ago, and I can honestly say that that excitement has not worn off. I now live off campus, but the dorm that I lived in was wonderful. We had our own bathroom, A/C, and if there was ever a problem it was handled quickly. The food plan was not the best, but my roommates and I often traded swipes for water so we could stay hydrated from running all over campus. Speaking of, the campus up here is gorgeous. That was probably the number one selling point for me. There are trees everywhere, red brick buildings, and a blend of new and old all over the Reno campus. I knew i wanted to go to college somewhere pretty, and this was it. Also, the staff and faculty on campus are both so helpful. I have never ran into trouble asking for help or having questions answered. It is very clear where certain subjects are handled, such as financial aid questions in the Student Resource Center. Or math tutoring in the College of Education. Everything has its place and is easy to find. Finally, the professors I have met are all very willing to help and take the time to listen to their students. Office hours are definitely encouraged and even being in a lecture hall of 200 people, I do not feel like just a face in the crowd to them. I have felt that way since the beginning and even if i could choose over again, I would still pick to "Go Pack" and choose the University of Nevada-Reno."

"Set near the heart of Reno, Nevada, the University of Nevada Reno has provided me an exceptional experience on what to do for my future career in Psychology. I have taken classes that explore the different fields I would be able to apply myself to, so far social and cognitive psychology has grabbed my attention by my interest in learning about people. I find something interesting in learning about the way different people behave, think and develop throughout their life. Based on the multiple theorists I have been taught about, I should be able to guide myself toward the right field I would like to advance in. Along with knowledgeable lectures, the campus also has their own experimental labs they conduct with the community (even university students) and each lab I have participated in reveals what it would be like to be a social scientist while teaching a thing or two about myself. The University of Nevada Reno has the best college courses and programs that are above average for the learning experience."
