"Great program. I started our this program with hesitation due to the lack of time that would be spent in class. After a few classes and getting into the swing of things, everything started to fall into place. The teachers are great and I love being about to talk to people in different fields of work. After making it through my bachelor's program I decided to work for my master's degree. Although times are tough financially, it is worth every penny."

"University of Phoenix staff goes the extra mile to ensure that their student is successful in their chosen field of study. You get curiosity calls when it seems like you are having trouble in class. On the first day of class, you get a call to ask how the class went and how you feel about it. University of Phoenix also provides its students all necessary resources that they fell will be helpful in being successful in class."

"University of Phoenix offers a great program for students who have other responsibilities. The flexibility of class rotations, start times, and functionality has made it possible for me to go back for my MBA. The key is that the instructors are all master craftsman. They are not just another professor standing in front of the class spouting theory or info from a text. They work in the field they are teaching, they bring real world experience to the class room and relate it to what we can use in the workplace. The only dislike is the learning teams, but it is awesome to build relationships with people you are in the same rotation with to encourage and motivate from start to graduation."

"I graduated from UOP with a BS in Criminal Justice in 2013. I choose to pursue a BS in Criminal Justice, ultimately because of the strong relationships I made with the Los Angeles Police & Sheriffs Department, as well as some of the faculty members in LAPD Gang Units. I then challenged some of my former students who wanted to drop out of high school, that if they continued their High School diploma, I would go back and get my MBA. My interest to further focus my degree in Education and Leadership was influenced heavily by my participation in the work in the community as a Mentor, Minister and Educator. I currently serve as the Dean of Student Services for a charter high school located in Compton CA, I am a Youth Minister as well as a Mentor for the nation Guard (Sunburst Youth Academy) at risk youth 15-19 years of age. Being awarded this scholarship would certainly help me financially since its more costly in the Doctoral Program. Thank you in advance!"

"I have been so pleased with the University of Phoenix, they have made everything so easy in the registering process and my advisor checks in with me regularly. Of course the schedule works well for me, I work full time and I'm also a single mom to a 13 year old. Meeting on campus one night per week works best for me. The classes are challenging, but in a good way, I feel very engaged and the learning has snuck up on me, I am already feeling like I am starting to understand the process of counseling. I have a lot more to learn, but it is clicking and I am so proud that at 45 years old, I am back to school and excelling with a 4.0. I did not know if I remembered how to write a paper, but it came back, no problem. The professors are very accessible and encourage questions on assignments if there is confusion. Even outside of class they are happy to help. I have recently joined the Alpha Beta Honor Society, and I am looking forward to networking with others in the field there. I highly recommend University of Phoenix, especially to working adults. If you are like me and an "older student", you can do it!"

"University of Phoenix is a great place to get your degree, they help you work around your schedule and many people supporting you along your journey. They online library is a great resource to research all items your area currently working on. What I enjoyed most were the free workshop. The one I took was being a critical thinker which definitely helped open my eyes."

"Classes in my program, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, are hit and miss. About half of my instructors have been good, some have been dismal. The program is way too long and way too expensive to be worth your while. Go to a state school for better value. My program is considered full time, yet it is 3 and a half years long, where similar programs at other schools are 2 years. By keeping us in school so long University of Phoenix gets to keep charging fees. Due to the length of the program, and the cost, pick another school."

"The University of Phoenix offers a rigorous Master's level program with excellent instructors. My tenure in the 18-month program was enlightening and enjoyable. Receiving instruction which prepared me for the challenge of further studies at the doctoral level was immensely gratifying, fulfilling and has proven quite useful in my current academic pursuits. Most of the professors were engaging and readily available for support if needed, and provided helpful feedback on your progress during the programs. If I were to make a recommendation for the improvement of the program, it would be a greater focus on independent study and less reliance on 'group' study for students, culminating with an individual thesis. While I understand that as scholars there will be times when collaboration will be necessary in research efforts, the challenge of team work in the online environment, is that some students are not as invested or as professionally responsible as others, and the spread of the work to be completed is not evenly distributed among team members because of lack of participation by some. All in all, my experience was a pleasant and productive one, and I am proud to say that I attended the university of Phoenix."

"University of Phoenix has an excellent set up for adults who work, raise children, are involved in activities, and are living life where day school is virtually impossible. One night a week is the common set up for programs presented at University of Phoenix which is perfect for those of us that want to pursue and complete graduate degree programs, but also have obligations in life which must be met. The teachers that I have had instruct the courses that I have taken in the program so far have been knowledgeable, helpful, and fair. I am grateful to have found a program that fits my busy lifestyle and that is preparing me for a career in counseling, along with preparing me to pursue a higher degree."

"I am currently pursuing a master's degree from Phoenix University of Ontario. The school is close and convenient for my busy lifestyle. Phoenix provides instructors who are working in the field of Counseling and Psychology. The experience has been great, especially for someone who use to go to the library and complete papers. I have not been to school for over twenty years but with the supported staff that are there for you to succeed if you want. The staff help to remove all of the fear I had with technology and writing. They provide assistance in every area of learning. It has been a blessing to my future endeavors and I look forward to conquering this next chapter in my life at 50."

"The program at the University of Phoenix at the Vancouver campus was very interesting, diverse and impactful. It made a difference in the person that I have become because of this learning experience. It has not only changed and challenged me professionally but personally as well. I encourage anyone who has the time to actually take classes at this campus."

"The Pros for being in my program is that the instructors are in the field they are teaching. Unlike "old" professors who have been teaching straight out of the book versus applying practical knowledge. A Con to the program is that some of the courses you really need more than the allotted time to learn the material."

"A Graduate Degree from any school is an achievement. University of Phoenix caters mostly to military and ex-military students however, the company I work for has a partnership with them, and a 10% discount is provided to me on the tuition. This discount however, is not enough to cover the thousands of dollars I have spent thus far in my education. The program is definitely geared towards working students, and this is definitely a pro. Being able to attend classes at night, and being able to complete and submit work online allows me to complete my studies and school work when I am not at work. The only con with the graduate program, as previously stated, is the cost. While I believe that the cost for the courses is reasonable, it is still expensive for me to pay for it on my own."

"Finding our own preceptors for the FNP program was probably the most stressful part of the program and it took away from the overall quality of the program. Inconsistencies in teaching the basics of SOAP note writing was also a negative. Overall, however, I was glad to go to UOP as it allowed me to continue to work full time as I am the primary bread winner for the family."

"Not going to write a long story but I regret enrolling in this school. I was definitely misled. This school does not care for their students. They used a great marketing strategy to lure us students in their school. I currently am a campus student but will be forced to do online classes for the remainder of my courses. This is a load of crap!! Since the retention rate of new students went down and students dropping out, they decided to close the campus I am at. I was told from the head directors that the last few students were going to finish the remainder of their program til graduation. I think i deserve my loans be forgiven for the false advertisement this school portrayed. How can people basically steal money from people that are trying to better themselves. Some country we live in !!!"

"This graduate program has teachers that are working in the field as they teach! They bring real experiences into the classroom, which adds to the incredible learning. They are engaged teachers and genuinely interested in facilitating and having quality discussions towards learning. In this degree they also provide an understanding environment about the realities of graduate school with life, kids, work, etc. They don't agree to slacking off but emphasize the importance of self care while going through this process. A con would be some of the selected books are a little out of date. I have also had difficulty getting financial aide above tuition because they don't have campus housing."

"I feel that the pros of my college graduate program are that the times and curriculum is flexible to a working persons obligations outside of the classroom. Obtaining financial aid and setting up program schedule was easy. I understood expectations going in. The cons to my program are that I did not feel I had as rigorous of an academic schedule as in my undergrad. This may be because I knew a majority of the material covered. Because there are no requirements to get into the program, which I think is a big mistake, many students did not have a business education background, causing the rest of us to sit through a large amount of refresher material."

"The graduate program at the University of Phoenix is surprisingly tough but is rewarding. When I first started going, I was only doing for the money through the GI Bill. However, I have actually learned and have implemented most of the lessons that have been brought up in my classes. Unfortunately, the school does have some not so pleasant requirements such as team assignments. These assignments can be extremely difficult especially since not every team member is on the same page when it comes to writing. However, in my opinion the school makes up for this deficit by requiring students to constantly work on papers. Every class has at least one paper due every week. Overall, I feel that the school is pretty good and I look forward to completing the graduate program."
