"Do not attend USJ for your FNP or DNP degree. This program is a joke and staff treat students like children. They have a policy where they take away 2 points from your final grade if you are late or miss class. They don't take into consideration that students have jobs, children, or health/mental illnesses. Stay far away from this school!!!"

"I truly believe that my undergraduate college experience played an integral part in making me who I am today. The University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, CT allowed me to participate in anything and everything I wanted to. I was able to be a Resident Assistant while working various other jobs and participating in two sports. The most influential experiences I had were from the academic faculty that I had the opportunity to learn from and work with. USJ provides an inviting academic atmosphere. The professors work to have you reach your highest potential with their help along the way. The Psychology Department and Spanish Department in particular possess amazing professors that make sure you graduate ready for any path you make take, including graduate school. In fact many of the demands graduate school has given me in my first semester, I have already experience something similar as part of an undergraduate assignment. Overall, the campus is beautiful and I have yet to find another college that can match it. In addition to its beauty on the outside, USJ has amazing lab schools and programs affiliations such as the Gengras and C.A.R.E center that allows students the opportunity to work with a special education population and participate in research. In addition, USJ has a lab preschool, The School for Young Children that hires students from the university to work as teacher assistants to provide the opportunity for those students to gain knowledge of early childhood education and help pay for their college tuition."

"My major complaint is that the online chemistry program is not suitable for working adults, which is the whole point of online programs. The chemistry department requires group work for 95% of each online chemistry course in this pathway. If someone is working nights, full time, and another person works all day, Monday through Friday, it is a challenge for them to coordinate with one another, which is required for group work. Communication will be delayed, and staggered. Every week, there is a group assignment, and this is not ideal for working adults. If you are a stay-at-home parent, then this is your program, just bear in mind that you will be frustrated dealing with 3-4 other group members and their diverse working schedules. Grand Canyon University and the University of Ohio have online chemistry programs, but verify if their curriculum is 95% group-work based. If yes, then just quit your job, get on welfare, and take graduate chemistry courses 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday IN PERSON at your nearest University."

"This was a great program. Learned a lot from experienced professionals in the education field. It was an accommodating off campus program that fit my needs and my work schedule."

"USJ is a small, private university located in West Hartford, CT. The campus is beautiful, safe, and clean. The professors in the graduate program I was enrolled in were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. USJ is also well known for its nursing program. The Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis program (which I have my Master of Science degree in) continues to grow and expand every year."

"I was very happy with my time at SJC. The teachers were incredible and really cared about the students- they also really knew the material they were teaching. I feel well prepared for a job as a school counselor."

"The best part of this graduate program is the ability to complete this program from the comfort of your own home and being able to continue to work full time. The only con that I really have with this program is the requirement to travel to the university in order to complete the comprhensive final exam."

"The School has a great name and reputation in the community. Many organizations quickly hire SJC grads just because they're connected to SJC. The con is perhaps the cost for attendance."

"Since I teach high school, I needed to find an online graduate program that was flexible. The online Biology, MS program at USJ is wonderful. My professors thus far have been very knowledgeable and helpful; they are very quick to get back with me if I have questions about something. I feel as if I'm getting the best education possible. I just hate that they don't take Visa credit cards."

"My Graduate program was very rigorous and helped to hone my skills in the education field. The professors at the graduate level were extremely helpful and on more than one occasion have gone out of their way to ensure the success of their students. Some professors are not as knowledgeable in the fields they are teaching."
