"My graduate program has faculty who hold nursing jobs in addition to teaching, allowing them to provide us with personal life experiences. This program is competitive and accelerated, therefore the students who are a part of it are dedicated to their studies and finding success. This program also provides wonderful opportunities for networking in the community."

"The pros of the program is that the teachers can be supportive and helpful. The school counseling program is amazing because the school helps you find an internship and there is an international requirement which means the chance to take a course abroad. The cons is that I have a massive student loan and its hard to work while in school."

"The USD Graduate Program has a very strong Alumni Network and routinely sets the students up with meet and greets for breakfast seminars and luncheons as well as regular speakers with industry professionals. All the professors are extremely professional, ready and willing to help students achieve their goals and are proven success stories in the industry."

"Supportive and experienced staff. The cost is comparable to other private schools, but still expensive. Extensive social/professional network within San Diego."

"USD's MA in Peace and Justice Studies offers a unique opportunity in the growing field of Peace Studies. Peace and Justice Studies lies in the intersection of conflict analysis and resolution, human rights, development and human security. Through incorporating aspects from these fields, the MPJ program creates a truly interdisciplinary approach to understanding the interconnected reality of society and governments. I am truly thriving in this fast pace program that combines theoretical framework with practical application. The immense wealth of knowledge and experience that the faculty bring, serves to enrich the value of education. The Kroc School of Peace and Justice partners with both the Institute for Peace and Justice, and the Trans-Border Institute, to provide students with access to practitioners of peace. Along with the visiting scholars that come to the school to further their peace research, the school hosts a Women's Peacemaker Program in which women from around the world are housed for a month at USD while giving lectures and meeting with local leaders to discuss various aspects of peace intervention and protection. I am proud to be a part of this unique opportunity and look forward to my role as a peace practitioner."

"The graduate program is the emerging of the Health and Law combined is one of its kind. The learning experience is outstanding in that I am receiving evidence based information on the changes to Health care in America and changes in law and policy. As a registered nurse, I am learning why quality of care is important to Americans. Also the changes that America is going through with the ACA. Some of the information I am taking back and sharing it with my colleagues, which is making a difference in patient care. The cons is that the degree is on campus and living in Corona Ca, working 40 hours, and raising a family makes it very tiring. A hybrid access would facilitate and decrease commuting time and stress. However, the learning experience and wealth of knowledge that I am receiving is well worth the commute."

"The school and program are both wonderful. My education here has been meaningful and inspiring, especially when discussing my educational background with other school counselors. USD and the School Counseling program have a fantastic reputation and produce excellent students as a result. There are trams which go around the campus usually every 15 minutes and the career center at this school is amazingly helpful. There are minor gripes. Financial aid wasn't personally great in my experience. I did receive one grant, which I am very grateful for, but the rest of the 50000 tuition is covered by loans. Parking isn't the best here. Two parking lots on opposite ends of the campus with smaller spaces in between make walking a frequent task, which is unfortunate if you are in a hurry. The School Counseling program does go through many changes so be aware that experiences vary heavily from year to year. Again the minor gripes do not exceed the quality education that USD and the School Counseling Program offers."

"The Master's of Arts in Peace and Justice Studies offers the unique opportunity to study peace and non-violence/social justice, while implementing justice and government legislation implementation into the process. This program allows you to obtain a comprehensive understanding of how social justice can shape the public sphere. As this program is still in its infancy: it allows students to extract their specific interests and needs from the program. There is also a cohesion with other departments on campus that allows students attain a comprehensive education. USD offers a well-rounded combination of theoretical work with hands on field work in which students can apply theoretical framework to real-world problems."

"The Master's in International Relations program at USD is absolutely amazing. The faculty is great, being both very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The program offers many chances to travel to important international events for a weekend of a few weeks. The graduate advisor, Dr. Willoughby is absolutely one of the best teachers I have ever had the privilege of meeting and working with. I honestly believe that the only con to this program is that it is not as well established or respected as other major International Relations programs."

"The pros of this program are accessibility and interaction with professors. The learning environment was very positive and encouraged peer involvement. I enjoyed the open communication and atmosphere. The cons are the price per unit of study which is expected at a private university. However the attention to each student is worth the price you pay."

"I am a stronger educator because of the ELDA program at USD. ELDA instills the concept of “Coaching” colleagues not the obsolete style of micromanaging subordinates. The collegial atmosphere in Mother Rosalie Hill Hall is exciting to say the least. There are opportunities to collaborate with educational communities around the world. Faculty members and associates are nothing short of amazing and provide a colossal network of excellence. My overall level of knowledge, leadership, and sophistication has risen by way of USD and this program. Look in to it."

"The USD Nonprofit Management and Leadership program is rigorous, but provides the insight, community network, and cohort necessary to be a successful manager in the nonprofit arena, whether it be in San Diego or elsewhere. The applied projects paired with theoretical learning are a unique learning approach, and the faculty/staff are incredibly helpful and make themselves readily available."

"I adore the faculty and the way they organize and teach their classes. I feel like each individual class session is an opportunity for personal and professional growth. Many of the faculty are incredibly intuitive and connected with the students. They push us to do our internal personal work so that we can continue to be successful in our external work. The biggest issue I have with being a grad student at USD is the cost of attending. Tuition is high at this private school and opportunities to earn money on campus, especially graduate assistantships, are incredibly competitive. Most opportunities, even teaching opportunities, are voluntary."
