"UW has an incredibly strong research program with lots of interdisciplinary opportunities. I enjoy my classes and extracurriculars. Outside of school there are lots of different resources (e.g., the IMA, Husky Health Center) and student communities. I would recommend."

"Studying Biochemistry at University of Washington Seattle was one of the most rewarding experiences of my academic journey. "Studying for my BSc in Adult Health Nursing at the University of Washington has been a really rewarding experience so far. The lecturers don’t just teach from textbooks they bring in real clinical examples, which makes it easier to understand how everything applies in actual patient care. The University of Washington provides a solid and supportive environment for nursing students. It’s not an easy program, but if you’re committed, it prepares you well for a career in adult health nursing."

"My experience at University of Washington was honestly amazing. I’d give it 5 stars overall, and the academics are definitely 5 stars too. The campus is beautiful, the vibe is great, and it’s just a really fun place to be a student. The professors really know their stuff and actually care about helping you succeed, and while classes challenged me to think in new ways, I also gained practical skills I still use today. There’s so much to do outside of class, which made it easy to meet people and build friendships, and that part of the experience meant just as much as the academics. I’d definitely recommend UW to others, and I’m really satisfied with how my education has impacted my career.Read Less"

"I'd like to think I'm a somewhat independent person, but I wasn't prepared for the change in environment here. Everything is independent/lonely - social aspects/career/community. If you want community here, you have to treat it almost like another class and put in that amount of effort."

"The academic life was great -- respectful and educated professors and clear guidance from academic advisors, etc.The school offered a lot of resources for its students’ career, such as career fair, small groups for interview practices, and even one lecture from one of the classes I attended that is dedicated to how to prepare for job interviews. But you need to be motivated to seek these, not feeling discouraged or only trying to get good grades in your class."

"The quality of the faculty is second to none in the region, and is definitely among the best in the country. The program is solid, with a fair amount of work required to succeed, both inside and outside of class. As for the University itself, the campus is amazing, especially during Spring, like right now."

"UW has fantastic professionals who are passionate about the topic they study, research, and teach. They are diverse and well qualified. UW is also expensive, especially for an online degree. It's a great experience, but not the most lucrative investment compared to other institutions."

"The school was perfect for what I wanted, which was to learn skills that would help me travel the world. Thanks to my degree I was able to travel and make a living as an English teacher, editor, tutor, and part time bar-back. I think back on my time as a Husky and still perk up whenever I hear something mentioned about one of its teams or something cool that the school is doing."

"The education was under shadowed by a toxic environment due to student body inserting themselves into political decisions that protests do not change. It was difficult to focus or walk on campus with these people. It consumed half of the degree just trying to avoid the majority of students."

"I had a great experience academically. My school was rigorous and challenging, but it instilled amazing habits inside me. On the flip side, I didn't have a great experience socially. I felt like the school was very isolating and lonely for me and many others."

"I transferred to UW from a community college because I did not have financial support from my parents and I transferred right into the start of a recession. I was given advise to not apply to too many places at once because of all the interviews I'd get at the same time from the previews class when there was a ridiculous software engineer shortage. I had no experience and no one could help me in the face of hiring freezes and massive layoffs. Now that I have graduated their support is mostly tailored to current students. Most of the non-transfer students I know who got experience before the recession are working 6 figure software engineering jobs but there are other students, not just transfers like me, who slipped through the cracks who put in so much work. I was not lazy and applied everywhere everyday, and I got the same advise. To just keep applying but nothing ever happened. I had my resume done in a work shop, other students help me, and I did not just apply to FAANG like some people assume when they hear a UW Paul G Allen grad not doing well. They put much more effort into diversity then helping students in a rescission, helping (usually poor) transfer students, or helping graduates that are no longer paying tuition. If you go during a recession expect the same advise that never works and expect them to cut you off from being able to actually talk to someone who specializes in tech after graduation. Don't expect the name and hard work alone to get you a job or internship in a recession or after graduation.Read Less"

"I liked my courses but did not feel supported in a job search. I did not have many opportunities for career counseling or internships. I felt the classes were too focused on ecology rather than human biology. I also felt that advisors and professors were not accessible"

"The UW is a world-class institution with a focus on research and high quality education. I enjoyed my time at UW and all the opportunities I had to "make my own way" across the many diverse opportunities available to me. There are social clubs, academic or science clubs and so many chances for someone to get into research. One aspect of being at such a large university is the impersonal nature of being one among many, and there is some lack of a personal touch until you find your community."

"The University of Washington is a very beautiful campus and a great place to get an education. There are so many classes available and some really great teachers to guide you through the learning process. There is great food available at the HUB and I really enjoyed playing hoops and working out at the IMA. It is a top notch college and a wonderful place to get an education."

"I am beyond frustrated with this school. Everything is capacity-constrained: the majors, the events, the clubs. It feels worthless being here and trying to expand as a person. Unless you are an extrovert, good luck. I honestly feel stifled, unsafe, and sad here. The academics are good, but socially it sucks."

"Going to UW is (and will hopefully remain) my greatest regret. If given the ability, I would scream at my younger self not to go. Basically all of my problems tie back to this school. No one faculty is apathetic, and the only real value provided was networking opportunities and internships - which required you to independently study and work on projects to get because the needed material is not taught in class."

"This was the worst educational experience I have had. I had an excellent undergraduate experience and MFA program. Then I came to UW. It was ok for two years, I kept expecting it to get better but instead it got worse. My department offered no security and often told me something would happen, like that I would be teaching the next term, only to change their minds at the last minute. It became impossible to trust what they said as they did this multiple times. It is all white men and only one token woman, a recent hire. DXARTS mismanages people and funds, no one is at the helm.Read Less"

"The University Of Washington (UW), is very well known for its research opportunities as well as resources it offers students to help succeed. The Seattle campus is the largest campus of all 3, and offers the most programs. The UW is located about 15 minutes away from Downtown Seattle, and is easy to access. There are many student organizations and study groups to help students feel welcomed. The UW is very competitive especially within its STEM related programs, so having study groups is really helpful. There's a specific tutoring site called the Instructional Center (IC) to tutor specifically minorities and students who come from low-income households.Read Less"
