"A place just to get cash from online students. Lots of questionable choices for those grading (essentially they are just people who graduated a few years earlier ...not actual professors) Professors don't do any real teaching - alot if it is powerpoints and canned material they resuse every year. There is zero career placement for this degree - so keep this is mind. In this sense it's not even the same level of effort at a normal university. I am not sure how much this degree is recognized n the field."

"I have attended a wide variety of online universities, and the UWS excels at making the online environment rigorous and engaging. If you are looking for an easy ride through a program, this school is not for you. The exams are comprehensive and demanding, as is the course work. But the professors are fair, and if an extension is needed, they will grant it. The studies are all evidence-based, and directly applicable to real life situations in the health care field. This is a great school, and moderately priced for the level of education received."

"I agree with the Anonymous writer.... the entire feedback is accurate. Professors lack flexibility when it comes to accepting late assignments. The daily penalty for late assignments at a hefty 5 pts a day. Not attractive for busy folks, moms, or working individuals. Grading is left up to the discretion ( hummm..) of the professor."

"Beware this school will lie to you to get your money and tell you you can get a refund at any time, then string you along for months and then claim no refunds! Very shady! Also I would highly recommend pursing the actual functional medicine certificate program which costs the same and grants a legitimate certificate in functional medicine by the institution recognized in the field. This place gives you an older water marked textbook and you have to look up articles to answer ridiculous questions rather than delivering information you need to actually practice this in real life. Two thumbs down!"

"The Doctor of Chiropractic program at University of Western States is rigorous and rewarding. It is an evidence based program that develops a profound understanding of the elements of health through exposure to a broad range of basic science courses. The instructors are all extremely well versed in their disciplines and interested in helping students attain the best understanding possible. The variety of viewpoints presented are consistent with the current state of the profession and prepare the student for the multitude of options they will be presented with upon graduation."

"UWS is an accepting school that teaches evidence based medicine. From the very first day, we were taught to work as a team with other medical practitioners and put downs of other professions was frowned upon. During my time at UWS, it most certainly is a rigorous full-time program with the majority of instructors being chiropractors. This means you get an honest approach, and "within scope" curriculum for the majority of classes. UWS also prides itself on finding the best quality instructors and refining the course content as best as possible. Mentorship is also a big part of UWS, both with teachers and students, but also with students at different points in their schooling."

"Receiving my education at the University of Western States is an opportunity I would not change for the world. Not only is the curriculum evidence-based, but the teachers on campus are there to ensure you learn, know and understand it. While there are some courses that need to update their curriculum in order to relay current evidence being taught in concurrent Masters courses on the campus, overall, the quality of information given is excellent. Teachers are invested in our understanding of the human anatomy, neurology, physiology, biomechanics and adjusting that make up the wheelhouse of chiropractic, as well as ensuring that we leave school with the capacity to diagnose and refer out to other care providers, when necessary. These are key aspects to being portal of entry practitioners, which we are as chiropractors. As I prepare to end my education here at the University of Western States, I have gained so much confidence in myself and in my peers that we will serve our communities with a focus based on the patient and their needs, treating the root of their problem, rather than their symptoms. The practitioners being created at the University of Western States will serve the health care community in a way that encourages wellness and prevention."

"It will set you up for success! From the day I started until my last UWS faculty and staff did nothing but the put me in a place to succeed. You start off with the basic sciences and once you have mastered those we move on to the basics of chiropractic. If it were not for the program and how it was laid out I would not be here today with the tools that I possess. I am excited and grateful for what UWS has provided for me and would recommend the school to anyone which a passion for health and chiropractic."

"If you are looking to apply to this school, don't hesitate to send them an email and ask questions. They are extremely responsive and friendly in the admissions office. The professors genuinely care about the students and have a wealth of knowledge under their belt that makes learning enjoyable and fun. The school is a big advocate for healthy living and well being and have a program that reimburses your costs spent on extracurricular physical activities. The education at Western States prepares you will towards becoming an excellent doctor through the course work and the internship phase in the last year of the program. Recently the school has become more electronic friendly are offering many online/in class hybrid courses. Everyone has unique style of learning and if paper and pen is the only way for you to learn, this might be something you want to consider. To mention some of the things I wish my school did better at, I feel the need to talk more about the need for better security personnel on campus. Although school has security that are on campus, I believe the quality of the security on campus can be improved. There have been multiple bike thefts that happen on campus and even though school took initiative for better monitoring of this issue, I am unsure of its effectiveness. Another thing that school can improve its services on is in the post graduation department. We do have an alumni center, however, their services are not widely advertised and made readily available for all students to benefit from. This is important as a chiropractic career is typically self lead and requires good career planning for future financial success. Overall, I highly recommend University of Western States for a chiropractic degree and I believe the quality of education is among the top in the country."

"The University of Western States provides an atmosphere that is quintessential to learning. The eagerness to learn is apparent from the moment you step on campus, and students are constantly challenging each other to become better health care practitioners. This university integrates evidence-based medicine into alternative medicine, creating an optimal patient experience. There are countless opportunities to specialize in different areas within chiropractic, and the University of Western States is devoted to helping students meet their full potential as chiropractic physicians."

"I believe that University of Western States will be a great fit for me because it will give me the opportunity to become a remarkable chiropractor through an integrative health philosophy. Not only does the University of Western States use a natural and holistic approach towards learning, but they also use methods and research that are current and progressive. This is incredibly important to me especially with the modernization of western medicine. I once heard a woman speak about her chiropractic career, and there was one point that stuck out to me the most; she said, You truly have to fight for the things that you want the most in life. My health and journey as a chiropractor has been my fight song. As for me, I have found my fight song, and this is a journey worth fighting for."
