"As a graduate student I can speak to the excellence of the science facilities and the willingness of collaboration between faculty members. The surrounding area is also pleasant with many options of activities. I cannot speak to the quality of undergraduate life but from the interactions I have had the student life is good."

"Vanderbilt University has been great. It's in a good city with more than enough resources nearby: food, shopping, and everything else one could need. Safety is always an issue in these urban areas, but VU does a great job of notifying all faculty, staff, and students about threats. There are myriads of opportunities presented to everyone for participating in on- and off-campus events. VU is top-notch for educational standards, use of technology, and support of science."

"Nashville is an awesome city to explore, lots of 20-30 somethings, live music, events, festivals, arts, culture, great food scene. Because it's in the south, many of these 20-30 somethings are already married with children, which hampers the singles scene a little bit, but that is changing as the city grows. You basically MUST have a car to enjoy all Nashville has to offer. Transportation, like many US cities, is mostly cars. Bike lanes are multiplying and the mayor has a plan to expand, but the city is too spread out to realistically use your bike as your main form of transport. I'm told the bus system isn't bad, but it's not widely utilized by students. Nashville is blue, but the state is red, so there is a good mix of political leanings here, although student services tend to lean conservative (e.g. their gender/LGBT center is lame - you would never see such neglect on either of the coasts). Vanderbilt is a predominately undergraduate-focused campus, so there isn't much of a grad school life to speak of outside each individual department. But they offer EXCELLENT financial support to grad students and the cost of living is very low so you can live a fairly normal, middle class life."

"I liked everything about Vanderbilt University school of nursing. The challanging classes, the top notch faculty, the sense of belonging to such a storied University. Vanderbilt offered many options to allow me to complete my course work, without have to sacrifice my job and family. Classes have flexible scheduling and distance learning is an option for many of the classes. My one complaint is that distance learning is not an option for more of the classes, they have the technology and should apply more classes toward it. My degree was a requirement to taking on a head nursing job, which I now have. I could not have advanced to this position without my degree."

"The Vanderbilt School of Nursing is a center of excellence in the Nashville community. The location is convenient, the instructors are outstanding, and the curriculum is challenging. This school has a very competitive admissions process. I was more than prepared for my enhanced career."
