"This school is a joke. It's like a high school for those who struggled in high school. Most instructors only have a master's degree and NONE have been in the k-12 education world for decades. Everything is soooo outdated! Teaching methods and strategies, leadership training, you name it; it's like a flashback to a one room schoolhouse in 1840. I went here for convenience, and boy, am I sorry that I did. During the weekend classes, we watched football and other sports. It really is the lazy way out. The big problem though, is that when you get into your job, you are wholly unprepared. I mean, really really unprepared. I would never recommend this school to undergrads or grads. Instead, go somewhere that actually prepares you for a career and advancement. There are a lot of colleges to choose from, just don't choose this one."
Sad & Broke

"This university is a joke, only it's not funny. Most classes are taught by adjunct instructors who do not teach. Face-to-face weekends were spent watching football games and talking sports. It was a total boys club. Online time was compromised of reading outdated material and studying "look-fors." Boring, irrelevant, waste of time, degree mill. Sad that it took me almost a year to leave. But sooo glad that I did. Went to a state school and earned my degree. I don't see how Viterbo is even in business, should be shut down!"

"Adjunct University - what more can I say?!? Education classes were taught by part-time adjunct instuctors or full-time "assistant professors" who had not actually taught in the PK-12 world for more than a decade. The dean was from the business school and was just using the role to lead to climbing the institutional ladder. "Professors" had master's degrees or doctorates earned at low-class schools. One spent most time telling us about his stories and another spent time doing nothing but making us write lesson plans that were reminiscent of a 1950s textbook. I was in no way prepared for classroom management or teaching in the 2020s+. I am now in a different field. DO NOT GO TO THIS HALF BAKED UNIVERSITY it's built on creating a "Christian" image, but embodies all things non-Christian."

"Awful. My professor and advisor quit mid-semester to take a higher paying job. I transferred this semester. They still haven't hired an replacement for him. Adjuncts, who were too busy with their full time jobs to respond to emails, were teaching all the Biopsych classes. I am not paying 30k per year to be taught by online adjuncts. Enough was enough. OUT"

"Should have gone to UW-L. Teachers seem burnt out or underqualified. Half my classes were taught by adjuncts who couldn't care less. All the full time teachers had side gigs to make extra money and had no time advise or help develop my career goals. Disappointed and now saddled with massive debt. Make no mistake, this school is expensive!!!"

"The professors were personable and attentive. The curriculum was approachable and practical but also thought-provoking. The class schedule was flexible and accommodating."

"Viterbo University has wonderful instructors who know you by your first name after the first couple of weeks. I loved that they were experienced professionals in their fields, and that they were willing to push all students to achieve their best. My favorite thing about my classes was that the instructors told us stories from their careers, which really resonated with me. I would say that the area in which could be approved upon would be real world application. I felt that when I graduated I was not fully prepared for the work environment, and what would be expected of me. Overall, it was a positive experience for me since I wanted a smaller school with personalized education."

"I chose an adult degree program. The school and the program was excellent. I found the program to be flexible enough to meet my needs yet rigorous enough to give me a good education. I was very happy with the staff and would recommend it to anyone."

"I began my graduate program 7 years ago, just after obtaining my undergraduate degree. I began the Arts of Education Graduate Program because it certified me as a teacher but also allowed me to work towards my masters. The program met in the evenings, which made my life so much more manageable. I had great support in my first 2 1/2 years of school. The very unique component to my program was it allowed me to go out at gain experience in the teaching field before fully finishing my masters. Now, coming back to the program after teaching 4 1/2 years, I feel ready to take on the higher level classes. I just completed my first class and it was rigorous but rewarding. The teachers and university are extremely supportive and easy to communicate with, especially from a different state. I can tell Viterbo wants to send out educated professionals into the work force and I am proud to be a part of the university."

"Viterbo University has a very strong standing in the La Crosse, WI community. I believe I received a quality education and that it helped me advance my career in Mortgage and Finance. I applied their Servant Learning principles to my current professional management strategies. My current employer was also impressed with the thesis I completed as a part of the program. I highly recommend Viterbo University."

"The pros are networking with other teachers in the program. The cons are some of the staff members are unprofessional."
