"Academics: Wake Forest fully prepares its students to excel in their future endeavors, whether it be in graduate school or into a career. The curriculum is rigorous, giving rise to the school's nickname "Work Forest". Students flourish because its small student faculty ratio enables them to collaborate closely with their involved professors, giving students an interactive hands on experience. Such close collaboration is an important foundation/skill to succeed in both the work envirnonment or graduate school. Wake has one of the top Study Abroad programs in the country, and 80% of students take advantage of studying abroad. Wake students become very well rounded and gain a global perspective. You will graduate with an elite education at Wake. Social: Although Wake has a small school feel in the classroom, students proudly display their big school spirit. Wake is among the top universities for all major sports, and students actively attend games. There is also a lively greek scene as well. Campus: Beyond beautiful. You feel as if you stepped into a resort. Plenty of open green space, gardens, variety of trees, beautiful architecture. Wake Forest has been named in many "most beautiful campus" rankings. Dorms are modern and dining hall food is rated highly by students. Wake Forest is also about 10 minutes from downtown Winston Salem. Plenty of cafes, restaurants and an arts district. Alumni: Strong national alumni network ensures students ample opportunties and support post graduation. Wake alumni are tight knit and look out for each other. Overall: Wake is a top tier university, and although a Top 30 school, its quite frankly very underrated.Read Less"

"The community at Wake Forest University feels more like a family than an actual University. Professors are very invested in their students and take the time to meet with students outside of class for office hours. In addition to help in office hours, it is common to grab lunch with a professor outside of class, or even be invited to their house for a home cooked meal. Take advantage of the opportunity to get close with your professors at Wake Forest University, this is not able to be done at larger universities with larger class sizes. Wake Forest University undergrad is a diverse and very intelligent group of students with many different interests and talents. When walking on campus to classes, you can expect to see people you are acquainted with as well as many new faces everyday. Wake Forest University is located about 10 minutes outside downtown Winston-Salem, NC which is a medium sized city. There is a satellite campus located right downtown that is specific to some classes with buses to take you to and from your classes downtown if you choose to take classes there. Due to the intense nature of the academics at Wake Forest Univ, you will find that most of your time will be spent studying. Even though the classes are hard, you will find that most students are encouraged to hold campus jobs, join different clubs and greek life, and become local volunteers. Overall, you will find that Wake will take what you are good at and make you GREAT. They provide endless opportunities for students and graduates who show that they work hard, are well rounded and have the potential to "make it" in the real world.Read Less"

"Wake Forest University is a world-class university. The student to faculty ratio is small giving students a high-level of access to their professors. The ease of access experienced by students at Wake Forest opens the doors to a lot of opportunity for them to be involved in research that will create a more robust education and assist them in finding a professional career that is a good fit. It helps students understand their proficiency with various tasks as well as learn what it means to be a team member. I found the student life to be infused with inclusion and acceptance. People of all backgrounds will find that their input and experiences are valued. Student life concentrates on volunteerism and community service. It gives students a better understanding of the world in which we live and how they can use their talents to make it a better place for those less fortunate. I strongly recommend looking into the programs offered by Wake Forest if you have an interest in using your education and knowledge as a way to contribute to society at large.Read Less"

"The MA program in Communication at Wake Forest is an excellent program for those wishing to go on to a doctoral program (as I am) or go into the work force (which I did directly out of school). The program is intense and well-rounded, with lots of access to world-class, tenured faculty. The advising is good, especially the thesis process, and I learned a great deal about how to conduct high level research. If you're interested in Debate, Wake Forest has an elite debate team. Overall, I absolutely loved my time at Wake, and my credentials and recommendations from Wake professors secure me admittance into the doctoral program I wanted.Read Less"

"The online Masters of counseling program at Wake Forest University is unlike any other! Even though all classes are over the web and you visit the campus one long weekend each year of the three year program, you still feel like part of the WFU family! Each and every faculty member cares for their students on and off campus. They are consistently and readily available for us when necessary and go above and beyond to meet our needs. I have been thoroughly impressed with Wake Forest's faculty, staff, students, and my program and recommend it for anyone wanting to pursue a degree after undergrad or for undergraduate bachelors. If I had my time to go over again, I would have attended Wake for my undergraduate university as well.Read Less"

"I am a very recent graduate of Wake Forest University and cannot recommend this school to degree seekers enough. It honestly was the best four years of my life, as they say. I was actually excited to go to class every day, I looked forward to doing my reading assignments and learning from some of the most intelligent men and women I know. Wake Forest does so much for its students, whether it be providing them with research experience opportunities or career services. Wake Forest feels like a community or a family, not just a university. And even though we aren't that stellar at football or basketball, we all still come out to the games to support our fellow Demon Deacons! "The Wake Forest PA program is unquestionably difficult but I believe that it has prepared me well for my future career. The faculty does a good job of drawing out information and teaching us how to utilize appropriate, accurate resources when searching for information. The teaching throughout the week supplements the case study work as well, allowing us to tie together the different disciplines."

"Wonderful program!! Very hands on with a lot of awesome labs. Great professors and small class sizes. Even help finding a career position. I would recommend this program to anyone. You can concentrate on many aspects. I loved microbiology and pathology."

"I chose to pursue my Master's of Physician Assistant Studies at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, because of their Inquiry-Based Learning curriculum and commitment to building compassionate, creative health care providers. The IBL learning style facilitates problem-solving development and independent learning techniques that will be invaluable throughout my career as a PA. I also fell in love with the creativity and opportunity to learn outside of the classroom built into the curriculum. For example, students visit local museums during their dermatology unit to sharpen description and observational skills. "Wake Forest University has been a fantastic experience overall. The classes are quite challenging and grading can be a bit frustrating. Wake could really use some more academic advising specific to individual majors. My major, minor combination was very difficult to complete and I did not know how notoriously difficult the program was. Also, I really think a lot of better course planning and scheduling could have ameliorated a lot of the stress that came with a rigorous major."

"Wake Forest University has an incredibly beautiful, walk-able campus. To walk from end to end takes only 10 or so minutes, so getting to class is easy. I am very impressed with the rigor of the university. My professors demanded high quality work from each student. Furthermore, the Wake Forest name will carry you far. I and the overwhelming majority of my classmates secured employment prior to graduation."

"Social Life, Safety, and Transportation are truly n/a in an on-line program! The quality and support from the Counseling Department is excellent and completely in line with CACREP standards. As a non-traditional student, the financial aid is lacking and the only drawback to this program."

"Wake is a work hard, play hard school and it attracts students who like this atmosphere. You'll have intelligent conversations with friends, but also make the best memories of your life with friends who love to have a good time. Almost everyone is well rounded at the school, and most love to get involved whether in volunteer activities, Greek life, student life, tutoring, etc. Wake is a beautiful campus with beautiful students! I met my husband there and I'm so grateful for my time there :)"
