"One of the best things about the MSW program at the Brown School is its flexibility. Many students end up pursuing an "individualized" concentration in which they can pick and choose which courses they want to take in accordance to their career focus, rather than following the concrete track that is available. There are numerous concentrations available to students and further specializations that provide students with a specific skill set (e.g., management, policy, research, etc.). Additionally, the professors all have relevant and impressive professional experience which they are excited to share with young professionals to help guide them in their respective careers. Many professors have expressed genuine interest in student learning in that they will willingly alter their class plans based on what the students would like to learn or feel that they need to know more about. They recognize that this is the time to be building hard, practical skills and they want very much to provide us with a useful skill set. The Brown School strongly emphasizes Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) and evaluation, and empowers their students to work toward targeted outcomes in their practice to be able to demonstrate genuine success or make the necessary adjustments to work toward achieving those outcomes. On the other hand, the Brown School paradoxically (as an institution of Social Work, a profession that places high value on diversity and social justice) does not appear to have a particularly diverse/representative population. The majority of Brown School students are White women, and most professors are also White. There are a fair amount of international students present, but we do not have representative proportions of American students of color. Furthermore, I do not feel that the Brown School specifically engages with the surrounding community enough and instead attempts to maintain boundaries that will be acceptable to funders and not cross what could be construed as political lines. Brown School students themselves do attempt to engage on their own terms, but these opportunities are not facilitated or specifically supported by the school. For an institution with a vision of creating "positive social change", it should be expected that Brown works to create such change in nearby communities rather than just preparing students for their future careers."

"I am halfway through my HRM program, and I love how the program has the right balance of business and humanities for this field. The program is still small, but is growing and will continue to be excellent."

"The pros of my program are the fact that they are on the ahead of the curve when it comes to physical therapy practice. They are big contributors to the APTA and the new belief that the APTA follows. The school is well-connected nationally and internationally with many physical therapists in varying setting. The faculty want you to learn and become a well-rounded physical therapist by the end of the program and they sacrifice a lot of time in order to help us succeed. The cons of the program are the price of attending the school and the lack of scholarships/financial aid available through the school."

"Wash U's MBA program provides a strong and diverse curriculum with top notch faculty and an attractive new building. Many companies from St. Louis recruit at Olin, but there is a fairly small representation from cities on the East and West Coast such as New York, Boston, and San Francisco. The students here are very bright, and the class size is small and fairly tight-knit. However, a larger student body would increase the size of the network and may attract more recruiters. Overall, Olin is a very good program."

"Great faculty, great opportunities such as externships or dual degree programs. The legal community in Saint Louis is very regional. Some firms will not even interview qualified candidates if they are not from Saint Louis or have previous experience in Saint Louis on their resumes. Other than that, I have really enjoyed my time here. The area around the school is very safe and affordable. The dangerous areas in Saint Louis are far from the school."

"Wash U is an incredible place that provides graduate students with a lot of support - both with your research and financially. The only downside is a large workload, but I feel that is true of all Ph.D. programs."

"Pros:the study environment is good and the facilities makes it comfortable to study. Besides, the faculties are responsible and take great effort in teaching. Cons: the things studied here are theoretical mostly, so it may be hard for students who wants to find jobs. The diversity of courses is also limited."

"Too expensive and some professors only care about their research and don't care about the students. Too much unnecessary homework, for example, you can solve a problem by software but they want you to solve it by hand. Not saying this is not good but you basically just repeat the same process for the whole semester. My program doesn't offer TA opportunity for master student and only let phd student be TA. Also, you don't have much time to social here... Too much homework... These are all cons. But the net working quality here is very good. You can meet people from top 20 universities. Guess this is only good thing I found so far"

"Wash U is a great school. Extremely competitive place to have a science PhD from, but make no mistake as great as it will look in the end the same "great" effort will be required to receive. Overall, I have enjoyed my experience and lab. The only things I would change is the individualized support for career planning. The school does a great job of seminars galore of alternative careers, but help with catering all this information for the individual is lacking, but they are working on it. For, example regular program meetings on how to prepare for after graduation. The other thing I would change is the student diversity, but it is no secret that this is an issue that is not unique to Wash U."

"Olin is an amazing MBA program. It's a very close-knit culture where you feel like a family. Every person in the program has the opportunity to be a leader and truly make an impact on the student experience. I would recommend Olin to anyone that is looking to be challenged, meet amazing people, work in a state of the art building, be a leader, and make the most of their MBA experience."
