"They make it very painful for working professionals who have a degree from a non-US University. I have a another Masters degree in the US and enrolled at Wayne for a 2nd Masters program and they are still making me go back to my university in India (from 14 years ago) for a WES evaluation. This requirement is not disclosed during the initial admission process. The graduate admissions department is the most unresponsive and rude department to work with. Considering this program is relatively new, they should make it easier on students and working professionals but on the contrary, they make it that much harder."

"The SLIS program lost quality since going completely online in 2017. If you're not one of the favored few you will have a difficult time making use of the program's perks such as IS organizations and hands-on experience. Avoid electives, especially in technology, if possible. The tech instructors I had were not qualified to teach their subjects. The class structures are repetitive and boring, with the main focus being to read enough academic dribble to justify this being a graduate program. Unless you already have a job in the field or don't have living expenses I would avoid this program."

"One of the first colleges in the country to offer completely online MLIS courses. Classes were manageable and easy to schedule."

"Wayne State offers a comprehensive education in an urban setting. Many of my professors were, or had been, working professionals in the field and offered great insight. Career counseling was available after graduation."
