"My program is very helpful in balancing school with the rest of my life. For an online program, it is more intensive than I thought it would be. However, if I didn't have a full time job and the usual responsibilities that get in the way of school, I would choose a program that offered more experience for practical studies in library and information science. It is an average school that teaches what it says it will, but it does not go above and beyond academics. If you absolutely have to earn your degree online, Wayne State's library and information science program would certainly help you."

"I had many required classes and did not have as much of a choice as I would have liked in class selection. My biggest disappointment in this program was in the advising. I changed advisors several times as I found them unhelpful and they just did not thoroughly answer questions or actually GIVE ADVICE! There should have been far more emphasis on matching students to skills as in: should I select web design for librarians and is this for ME? Should I pursue childrens' librarianship, AND of vital importance, which areas will have the greatest number of jobs after graduation. Students should work in the field before going to grad school! I cannot stress this enough and tell this to every student I meet, in every major."

"I loved the convenience of obtaining my Masters through Wayne State University. They offer an online only M.L.I.S. program which allowed me to fit the classes into my full time work schedule. It also gave me the chance to work with students from all across the U.S. Overall I had a wonderful experience with Wayne State University."

"Out of all the library schools I looked into, Wayne State had the program I wanted and then added another concentration that I really enjoyed while I was attending. All my professors are knowledgeable in their field and incredibly easy to talk to. The work assigned is formulated to give theoretical and real-world experience. I would keep going to WSU if I could."

"Although at first glance a school located in downtown Detroit may seem intimidating, the value of Wayne State's education and the friendliness of the campus community outweigh any unsure feelings. The Library and Information Science Program is super cutting edge. It has a strong focus on technology as well as the roots of the profession. It also offers many online courses for students who work full time or who have families."
