Student & Graduate Reviews

Tim Dunlap - 8/27/2014
Degree: Religious Studies
Graduation Year: 2007
"I graduated in 2007 so this review may be a little dated. WJU is a Christian school. I loved attending this school. The teachers challenged me to think harder and dig deeper into what we were studying. If you go for the Music & Worship degree, you will learn a gambit of different aspects of the music world. From music theory to ear training to piano lessons to world music, there is something for every type of music lover. If you love God and want to learn how to worship Him through music and want to be challenged intellectually as well as spiritually along the way, there are not many schools better than William Jessup University. It is a small school. There were about 500 students when I graduated and now in 2014, I believe there are around 1200. So it is intimate and you will likely get to know your professors and they will likely get to know you. It is a place you will have fun, grow closer to God and build relationships that will last a lifetime."

Allison (Bowman) Weaver - 8/27/2014
Degree: Religious Studies
Graduation Year: 2004
"In my four years at Jessup (well it was San Jose Christian back then), I not only grew academically, but also personally. It was such a nice, tight-nit family where I felt safe. I was able to really reflect, review, and get the help that I needed to grow as a person!"

Degree: Ministry
Graduation Year: 2013
"William Jessup is a place where people come together to express their ideas and opinions in conjunction with practical, applicable, and challenging material taught in and outside of the classroom. WJU is a place where your faculty cares about your desires, passions, life, and relationship with God."

Degree: Clinical Psychology
Graduation Year: 2012
"WJU offered a unique program in psychology that helped the student examine and understand themselves further so that we could help others in an unhindered way. So many other programs are strictly "others-focused" when learning how to counsel in a clinical setting, but WJU believed that an effective counselor was one who first understood themselves. I grew a tremendous amount in my personal life. When I received my degree I felt like I had become a better person and I was fully equipped for my field of work."

Drew Bell - 8/27/2014
Degree: Business
Graduation Year: 2013
"The programs at WJU are each structured with the goal of training the students to apply their education in their careers; not simply to complete a degree. I think this is a significant departure from the typical school of thought at many universities; WJU is highly successful in having students in 4 years. WJU provides qualified professors and intimate classroom sizes. WJU also cares holistically about the development of individuals: working to meet everyone at their level to achieve their personal goals. Few places can deliver such a level of quality, but WJU finds the balance between a high standard and the desire to adapt to meet the needs of the individual student."
