Winston-Salem State University Reviews
Student & Graduate Reviews (5)
I was a distance learning student, RN-BSN at Winston-Salem State University. Going into the program, I had heard from various people that you do not learn much from a RN-BSN program, as it is mostly writing papers. I feel like I gained a vast amount of new knowledge that I can carry into my future career, particularly in the business class. The instructors were always helpful and replied in a timely manner. As an individual who had to pay out of pocket for my education, with minimal financial assistance, I feel that it was the best option for me.
I really enjoyed going to Winston Salem State University and being a part of the education program. In the education program, I feel that the instructors prepare students for real world problems in the classroom. Winston Salem State has an awesome program for future teachers, whether you decide to teach elementary, middle or high school.
This was a great school for me to learn hard life lessons and build great character. I learned how to be independent and to utilizes the resources that are available. The organization of the school itself does need a lot of work. The staff was not properly trained nor informed. At times staff did not seem helpful. The professor professionalism was not good and the culture of the school seemed very relaxed.
Winston-Salem state University provides a wonderful opportunity for students to utilize their resources to be successful while providing the necessary tools to succeed in life following graduation. The Exercise science department has a rigorous curriculum that has mentally prepared me to succeed in my graduate program.
I am very fortunate to have been accepted into the accelerated BSN program, and although it was slightly unorganized and poorly laid out at times, the classes and professors prepared me well for the whirlwind and often overwhelming career that is nursing.
