Belmont University Rankings by Salary Score

Belmont will put on a great presentation during their “Belmont Day” and orientation on how much they care and cannot wait for you to call Belmont home. Wrong. Once you get there it’s a total different vibe. I had to move in early and had absolutely no help. The RA’s just stood and looked at me. I let them know my situation again and they came up, looked at my bed and said “jesus christ we work 9-9 we’ll do it in morning.” I slept on a mattress on the floor that night with no working ac. The RA’s never helped I had to call maintenance the next day. Fast forward to classes starting. I don’t come from a wealthy family so obviously I applied for as many loans and grants as I could but Belmont would only accept me for so much. It was not even a week after classes started they had asked me to make a payment (we’ve been calling trying to set up a decent payment plan for what we could work with and try to get some help getting other loans and they would never call back) or my fall term and housing would be canceled by the next day. I called them numerous times as well as my mom to get told we had to pay 5000 then no matter what other loans i could get and then another 4000 every two weeks three times. I’m sorry but no one has that kind of money just sitting around. The professors and advisors are great and really care for the students. Admissions and Financial not so much. I was given no other option other than to withdraw because I could not pull 5000 dollars out of my pocket that day. I had to pack my stuff and be out by midnight that night. I’m not from Tennessee so I had to get a hotel room with my loaded car so I could get some sleep before my drive home. Belmont is nothing but money hungry and a joke. Please find a different school that’s cheaper and will genuinely care about you all the way through. Save your times and tears.

It is disappointing how students and veterans of the graduate school were treated during the spring semester when COVID 19 hit and in-person classes were cancelled. The university compromised its academic integrity in some courses and “put the screws” to students in others, after restricting on campus access. If we wanted to go to school online, we would pay less and do that elsewhere, but we saw the advantage of learning in a classroom and studying with our peers. Read More of veterans enrolled at the Massey Graduate School of Business were involuntarily unrolled from future classes because of performance during the spring of 2020? -What was their overall GPA before the spring semester? -What additional resources were offered to these struggling students? -Why would you pour salt in the wounds by asking them to write a letter to the dean explaining their poor performance and also requiring them to explain how they are going to “fix their problem?” -Why is the automatic assumption that the student put forth little to no effort? The university is seemingly not recognizing the impact their changes made to the students after their resources were restricted. Finally, if the student put forth considerable effort and believed that they did their best in the course, wouldn’t writing the letter of explanation to the dean violate that student’s integrity? I know Belmont values integrity. I’ve read the Honor Code. How do I reconcile this?
