I had high hopes for Hampton. I assumed going to a historically black university meant that I would be in an environment in which I was uplifted and understood as an African American. The Five Year Master of Business Administration program is astonishing. The program polish each students professional side. Each Monday and Wednesday, students learned how to interact with corporate executives and the tools to be successful in corporate America. A plethora of companies across the country visited the campus for the day looking for our talent to bring to their workplaces. The program opened the door for me to intern at a Big Four accounting firm, a company I could have never dreamed me working for. When faced with obstacles, I kept myself grounded. I understood that I had to keep my goal of graduating in front of me. I never gave up on myself and kept myself surrounded by those who motivated me and where cheering for me.
