The three phrases I would use to describe Harvey Mudd are "very challenging", "rewarding", and "community". Even coming from a top private high school, the workload at Mudd was significantly heavier, the breadth of required subjects was much greater, and the projects I worked on were much harder and complicated than anything I had experienced. I don't count that as a negative, though. I was pushed beyond what I would have thought myself capable of, and I graduated knowing so many things I had never imagined... Read More I would learn. I did it alongside a fantastic group of fellow students who helped each other succeed. I've heard that many top schools are cutthroat; Harvey Mudd is the exact opposite, with collaboration not only encouraged but actively taught in things such as the Clinic Program. I never once felt like I was competing with others, and I know that none of us would have succeeded without the deep network of friends we made.
