Unless you are prepared to do the work on the level of graduate students as a junior in college, do not consider the BS/MOT program at QU. They do not give an accurate representation of the rigor and actual intellectual level of the courses you begin during your third year as an undergraduate student in this program. If you tell them you are struggling with non-academic circumstances, such as mental health or family issues, you can't expect to be met with sympathy and the flexibility you would expect from an Occupational Therapy department, a field focused PURELY on flexibility and adaptability. I loved and adored this program and the faculty until I began to struggle in one course, and nothing I could do was good enough for them. I wish I had somehow gotten the chance to speak to someone who had also found one or two of the more intellectually challenging courses a bit of a struggle to get through (and when I say a struggle, the program requires a C+ to progress, and I got a C/C-) and known how they treat students in this situation, because it certainly would have impacted my decision in attending this program.

It was generally known that you were not a true QU student unless you missed at least a handful of classes due to the food poisoning from the school's horrendous caterer (Chartwells if you would like to look them up). The school is a rampant lier, still telling students they live on the main campus for the first two years when they, in fact, are usually squished into off-campus accommodations after freshman year. Read More you do it while prospective students are touring, since it is the only time when they actually make sure the silverware, trays, and coffee/other machines are not covered in filth. The education itself is lackluster, and I was told my senior year that I should not expect to be "job-ready" after completing a bachelor's at Quinnipiac from the head of the department herself, so there goes $200,000+ for nothing. The game design and development major itself was a trap, any students entering it learned nothing and were stuck to learning on their own. If you want to be a game developer, do what the head of the game design and development department told us: never take game development as a major. I would advise taking a computer science bachelor's (ANYWHERE but Quinnipiac) and take free online courses for game development, since the teachers usually just rip from these at QU anyway. I can confidently say that 90% of what I learned about game development at QU was learned on my own, and most of the stuff I was taught needed to be relearned since it was generally incorrect.
