This is a review as a current student of the MHA program at the ULV. I only have one term left for graduation so this review refers to all classes exempt for Graduate Seminar. The Masters of Health Services Management lacks structure. Every teacher does not grade according to a rubric. All grades are subjective. All teachers come up with their own standards of what they think is acceptable graduate work. This makes most of the teacher very easy and giving out A's like candy. Very few teachers actually grade... Read More to a high standard. The teachers that do grade on a high standard do not provide rubrics or any material to refer to their grading style. This leaves students very confused. Many of the class materials do not prepare you for a job in health care administration. I would say to any prospective students that the only classes that prepare for an actually job is; Financial & Cost Analysis (502), Organizational Communication (504), and Budgeting and Cost Control (532). On a positive note, the teachers are very passionate about this field. I would say that each teacher is good at communicating their experiences and knowledge to the student. The best part of the program is the students. The people who are in the program are dedicated to the field of health care.

The instructors at the Irvine camus were great! I enjoyed most of the classes and instructors that I had. However, the administration at the school and trouble in regards to fieldwork was horrible and made me go from recommending the program to advising individuals to research other programs. There was frequent misinformation being told to students or administration would take so long to get back to students it caused many of us to miss important deadlines, know importatnt rules or regulations.
