It is a very large campus with students from all backgrounds. This school, due to its size is easy to lose yourself in and those from smaller towns or with retiring personalities may do just that. UMD is a party school, so if you like to party this may be the school for you. As to academics they have many wonderful educators available in many and diverse subjects on campus. As Maryland is a Southern State the weather is more moderate than severe, and usually quite enjoyable.
