I am a part-time student, working full-time in the IT field. I came back to finish my Bachelor's degree so that I could better advance my career. I am not interested in being one of the millions of Americans with College debts so I am paying for my classes as I go. The advisory team seems to have to perform some type of "one-off" because I am not taking financial aid, making me feel as if I were a second-class student. I have had multiple instructors in their IT departments tell the classes to "got to YouTube"... Read More and figure it out. They have some great tutorials on how to do this." I am not paying you $1100 per semester, to teach myself off of youtube. Instructors create discussion boards on the Blackboard system, instructing students to ask questions in the forum so that all the class can benefit. "This board will be monitored and I will respond when questions are asked". I posted questions multiple times for different teachers and got no response for the entire semester. They cut and paste their syllabi and do not change the due dates (Yet Plagiarism is supposed to be strictly prohibited within the University). So all assignments show as due years in the past. One instructor put out her syllabus with due dates, then posted an announcement on blackboard and sent an email both stating all assignments were due by the end of the Semester. Then held the class accountable for meeting the original dates on the syllabus. This is one of many Universities that have sold out their students for profit. The information taught in their management classes is outdated. Their Technology classes are self-taught at best, yet they do not respect or honor Professional IT certifications like the A+. I should have just gone to trade school.

I’ve been in the Alt-A M.Ed program at West Alabama for a year and was supposed to start my student teaching internship at the start of next semester (Fall ‘21), but have now been forced to delay until Spring ‘22 because the program advisor failed to sign my application (which I submitted over a month before it was due) by the deadline. I have been trying to contact said advisor since I received an email informing me that my signed app was still missing, but all I’ve gotten is an auto-reply saying they are... Read More out of the office for the next week. All of this is over a missing signature page... I’ve done everything I was responsible for well ahead of time (passed prerequisite courses, submitted the internship application, registered/paid for courses that coincide with the student teaching field work, etc) and 12 hours before the deadline I’m told my internship will be delayed until next year because of something my advisor failed to complete (which, again, was just signing her name on my app...).
