"The practicum component of the MPH program allows students hands-on experience outside of the classroom. Faculty at BU School of Public Health are committed to their students, and are always available to discuss academics as well as professional goals."

"I am a first year graduate student in the School of Public Health and I am pleased with my decision to attend Boston University to pursue my Master's degree. The program includes a core curriculum in which you can get a sense of the many different aspects of public health such as health law, epidemilogy, and biostatistics to name a few. The courses are meant to provide a broad overview of the subject matter which certainly enhances the overall quality of the program. Additionally, the city of Boston is a great place to be if you are interested in health care--there are countless oppotunities for internships and jobs in the field. I could not be happier that I chose BU and would recommend the Public Health program to anyone who wishes to pursue a career in the health sector."

"As a student in the BU undergraduate program, I was excited to receive my acceptance letter into the School of Public Health. I dual concentrated in both Epidemiology as well as Health Policy and Management. My professors were fantastic and my courses were intriguing and applicable to my future career goals. The best aspect of this school is their fantastic career services center. Lisa Toby, a member of the career services center, is fantastic. She guided me through any question or concern I had and helped me in the job search process. She is fantastic! The main drawback of BU School of Public Health is the price. After 4 semesters I graduated with almost $60,000 in student loans. As an undergraduate at BU I received substantial financial aid in the form of grants and scholarships. In the graduate program this is just not the case. With about $3,000 a semester for living expenses, I resided in a somewhat unsafe part of town my first year, then luckily was able to live in student housing my final year. This is a major drawback for anyone that cannot find living arrangements within the tight budget. Many of my peers had to find additional work to pay what the loans did not. Overall, I loved BU School of Public Health. I loved the people, I learned a great deal, and despite the high costs of living I love Boston. I had an amazing internship that I would never have had the opportunity to obtain if I was not at BU. They helped solidify my career path and gave me encouragement that I could become successful one day in my chosen field. Go BU!"
