"The pros of the Creative Writing Program at Cleveland State University, is perfect for a graduate student to expand their writing skills. The cons is that it is very difficult to express yourself while following the professors protocol."

"The overall academic and education value for the Cleveland State Master's program in sociology are high, I only wish that there was more emphasis placed on qualitative data and stratification critique. Nevertheless, the environment of CSU itself is fantastic, while also providing an array opportunities for their students. I value my time here and believe I have grown in my abilities of theory, research methods, and general networking."

"I feel that I received an excellent education at CSU. I would have liked to use a data analysis package more intimately, as I did so in my undergrad. I think that would have created a more well-rounded understanding of quantitative social research. But other than that, CSU was a great experience and I have found my MA to be one of my greatest accomplishments thus far. The instructors really cared about the students and that material was definitely stimulating. I am very much grateful for the growth I achieved there."

"I like the fact that there are part time options and that thre is a good mix of full time and adjunct faculty. I don't like the fact that parking has gotten so expensive and, at times, really sparse."

  • Degree: English
"Our program uses a lot of adjunct professors, and this can be both a pro and a con. On the positive side, having new faces come in every semester offers a fresh perspective on the subject, especially in workshop-style classes that are in effect the same course each time you take it. The opportunity to make it a new experience each time helps broaden the experience. On the downside, with professors coming and going every semester, you can lose some of the connection and familiarity. I think the diversity of student and staff in our school also helps to open up the experience, offering perspectives and world views, opening up minds to ideas they may not have previously encountered."

  • Degree: Non-Profit Management
"The pros of the Graduate program are many. They are one of the top rated non-profit degree programs in the nation. It truly prepares the student for non-profit administration. The faculty is supportive, the classes are enriching and internships are provided to students to enable them to receive hands on training. The cons are the expenses of the program. There are not many ways to pay for this degree besides getting a Graduate Assistantship, which is highly rare, or taking out $30,000 in loans."

"There is a a passionate student base in the program which provides a great atmosphere for workshopping and collaboration. The availability of the full time faculty could be a bit more open, but the adjunct professors are usually very good at providing support."

"The graduate program takes a lot of work and effort. The faculty are very involved and are willing to help out in any way they can. The program offers financial assistance in terms of assistant ships which is very helpful because the cost of living is high."

"The Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program at Cleveland State University has exceeded my expectations. The faculty and adjunct instructors in the program are willing to bend over backwards in order to help meet the students needs. Also, the professional opportunities available to the students is one of a kind with the Cleveland Clinic and University Hospital right down the road and other urban setting facilities. Overall, the atmosphere on campus is on the rise with all the recent and future upgrades in the area. I never thought I would attend Cleveland State University being from the area, but I'm glad I made the choice to continue my education in my hometown."
