"I started with GCU 4 in a half years ago.I had the best student counselors. Even though they changed counselors every 6 months, I had the best. I had a couple of teachers that pushed me to succeed to the best of my ability. The counselor I have now is horrible and never can be reached. She even hung up on me and stopped calling me. I will NEVER recommend a zoo animal to be under counseling under her. I was ready to give up on everything and she said to me,”What your going to do about it?”. I had to go to my professor for mental guidance. What I’m saying is one bad apple like that student counselor will make the whole apple pie bitter."

"I'm a military spouse to an O6. My career always took a backseat to his Air Force demands. I returned to work in and out but got bad shifts and low pay with a BSN. I returned for a MSN and immediately landed a job making 76k. The hours were better but it certainly was worth the time studying. Highly encourage a return to school as my resume is growing. Im now leaving this job with many offers to be a Director. I truly believe it is because of the graduate degree, and hard work in the job. The courses are at times poorly managed as online clinical teaching at GCU were pulled at the last minute so caution. However returning for doctorate bc it was in and out. Dont be shy about getting a schedule that works for your family as they want to fill their classes fast. Ask for breaks if you need to. Be rested for next bc its a hamster wheel once in the course. I put in well over 50 hrs a week writing and studying. Advisors are terrible make min wage so not much help. Take courses that you can handle and ignore their demands. Theres a hidden motive..numbers! Would recommend. Its easy and you're cashing a better paycheck."

"I wish I would NOT have started the ACNP program at GCU! What a waste of money and time!! The instructors I've had were not helpful and GCU only cared about taking students' money instead of focusing on students' success!!! Their online learning system is also the worst I've ever used (if not ancient) and I've taken many online classes in the past (I earned my Bachelor's degree online)! They are a "for profit" school after all, so they care more about taking students' money, not helping students succeed! For a Christian school, there's nothing Christian about the way they conduct their program! Not to mention, their FNP program won't allow you to practice in CA! Don't waste your time and money!! Go somewhere else!!!"

"This program is great academically speaking. However, I feel the students in this course are extremely under-qualified for a masters level program. The professors are very knowledgeable and seem to engage in the classroom when necessary as well as answer questions in a reasonable time frame. Over-all this program has provided me with extended knowledge that I will be able to take on to my professional career to be successful."

"As they will tell you during you "College 101 Class" for your program, you will get out of it what you put into it. You can do the minimum or you can go above and beyond. I was fortunate and all my instructors were great and very involved with the class they taught. However, be aware that if the online platform they use goofs up they may not want to review your grade. We used "LoudCloud" and the quiz feature crapped out during the final of one of my classes. This caused several people in the class to get a lower grade than they deserved in the class. Unless you can prove a miscalculation of the score on the test or discrimination, they will not take into consideration that the online platform caused the issues and you are stuck with a grade that is lower than you deserve. Appeal as you might, they will not hear you."
