"I am currently attending GCU to obtain my FNP degree. I really wish I had attended a different school. Communication to students about the required process to progress through the program is non-existent. I have spent as much time trying to contact advisors and instructors that don't reply as I have completing assignments. The advisors are rude and hostile. There is a 50% chance that you will have a competent instructor. I attended one series of lectures during which the "advance practice" pathophysiology instructor would post the slides assigned for class and then, during the lectures say, "well, I don't know anything about this so read this section in your book," and, "oh I've never heard of this, so we're going to skip these slides . . ." I tried to contact the director of the program only to learn that my student services counselor sent me an outdated student handbook including an incorrect staff list, so the program director I was trying to contact was no longer at GCU. I have a 3.8 GPA so I am not writing this out of a place of failing the program or lack of academic knowledge. I really want to transfer to another school to complete my degreebut by the time the transfer will be complete it will be time to graduate, so I will probably just finish the degree at GCU. However, I will not be boasting of the degree or proud to say I attended GCU as I am now embarrassed that I go to school here, knowing how incompetent they are. I am proud of both my bachelor's degrees and the school I attended to obtain them. I will not ever feel that way about GCU. If I can give one piece of advice it is RUN FROM THIS SCHOOL! Obtain your degree somewhere else. I will also be filing a complaint with the accrediting board of higher education about GCU!"

"The FNP program lacks instructors with full knowledge or desire to teach. Furthermore, the school promises assistance in finding clinical sites when in reality they send their students “cold calling” offices in attempt to find their own preceptors. The school will not back their NPs after graduation and after passing boards if you need any sort of letter to help with credentialing. Do Not Attend GCU!"

"This is the worst school I have ever attended. I learned literally nothing from the instructors who did not seem to understand the basic pathophysiology behind NP or medical practice. It appeared to me the school dragged anyone off the street as long as they had a NP credential - whether they understood the material or not. My rating of the instruction is an F. Literally , the instructors seemed to know maybe 10-15% of the material. For the most part the instructors just read off outdated, poorly written Power Point slides. If you asked a scientific question about the material, it was a rarity ANY of the instructors throughout the program could give a competent, coherent answer. The instructors literally struck me as incompetent and stupid. I cannot imagine how they treat their patients. If you want to practice medicine, go to MEDICAL SCHOOL and skip these junk NP programs - especially at Grand Canyon University - the worst of the worst IMO."

"I had great experience at GCU finishing my FNP degree. They found preceptors for all three practice classes for me. Student counselors were very professional and helpful. I attended my program on campus as evening student. Most of professors were very good. I had one bad pharmacology professor reading PPTs. I am not sure how is for online program, however, I heard from my colleges evening program is much better."

"This program is so unorganized. The instructors are mostly adjunct staff. They are usually doing this as a part time job and usually only last for one or two semesters. They often say that they don't get paid very much and this is demonstrated in their efforts. The curriculum curriculum often changes in the middle of the course. This is due to their violations with the state boards from what I hear . Communication with staff is minimal and administration is almost impossible. The attitude of administration is unacceptable. Just not a very good learning experience. You are lucky if you run into one of two good instructors but they don't stay long because of the poor organization of the program. Program not recommended"
