"In my previous academic endavors I graduated one school with a 4.0 GPA and the undergrad with a 3.7 GPA. This experience was really horrible for me and my finances. I feel that I really made the wrong decision. I agonized over writing a review here, because it is in my nature to be positive and also to think of others - the staff, the school spirit with the students - etc. I hope you have a better experience and that things improve with the masters programs to the point that they properly accommodate working professionals, people who support their families."

"I have seen a lot of strange negative reviews. I found this university to be a lot like the other schools I have attended with the exception of my advisor. My advisor was the best advisor I have ever had. She did her best to help me whenever I had any issues. As with any school, this one is not perfect. Sometimes there are issues with an instructor, sometimes there are issues with their online system, but they really work diligently to fix them. When they first came out with their new online learning system that included anti-plagiarism software, it was awful. It was taking hours to get your papers back. The IT folks really worked hard to fix those issues and the faculty was very understanding and flexible about deadlines that were missed during that time. I have attended schools like Alabama, Maryland, and NC State, and this one is very similar to those."

"This is one of those things to where I don't want to give a review but feel obligated to do so. GCU needs some improvement, particularly with the academics and professors. I received my Bachelors in Marketing from there; it was a cake walk, not challenging at all. I decided to get my MBA from there as well, because I figured it would increased my professional value and it seemed like it would be a challenge I could accomplish. I completed both degrees online and they were TOO EASY. I graduated both with about a 3.5 GPA with very little effort. I maybe averaged 4 hours a week in total schooling. I love education, I think learning is the key to success. My MBA didn't even provide me with a real capstone project! The 8 week course had me work one a portion of a capstone each week, then the last week, I copied and pasted each portion into a final draft to submit. Numbers were made up, calculations were garbage, etc... You put in what you get out but at the same time, if a teacher doesn't hold you accountable OR doesn't work with you to actually challenge you, it's pointless. I had three teachers that received their "doctorates" from Nigeria... Their English was nonexistent. Imagine being in an MBA class, receiving online messages from your teacher with words like "yur" and grammar like "I am need you to" ... I also had to call them a couple of times for clarification because they couldn't actually explain some projects in the online setting. I couldn't understand them over the phone.. I wrote a complaint, about a page and sent it directly to the Dean. I explained how frustrating it is to be an MBA student, wanting to push personal limits and be taught by someone that can't even type proper grammar in an MBA class. It fell on deaf ears. I'm worried that the value of my MBA will decrease, if this trend continues. It will be a running joke for HR managers. I have considered hiring a lawyer regarding this, since it cost about $30,000 for the MBA. They hire unqualified professors to teach graduate level and there is no option of a refund; once you're committed, you're committed. All of that being said, I'm in a very successful career ($100k+) but zero credit goes to GCU. Frankly, I've considered leaving my MBA off of my resume for future positions because their reputation keeps decreasing."

"Faculty doesn't go the extra mile. They're not available half the time for help when you're in the online program. They respond days late most of the time and hold you accountable for not having the information you were seeking. A lot of the weekly assignments didn't have grades posted for over a month (classes are 2 months long). I rarely got a direct answer to any question when they did respond. Academic counselors aren't much better. Lastly, there's a $150 charge to receive your degree, as if you haven't paid enough to take all these classes."

"The classes were well designed and consistent. The online schedule worked well with my life and made it easier to complete and post my assignments. I would recommend this school to anyone that is trying to juggle life, work and family. For the most part my instructors were pretty good."

"I completed my bachelors and masters here!!! I was schedule to complete my master program in February 2018 in which I would have been eligible for Spring commencement but instead I finished in October 2017. Now they are saying I was eligible for the Fall commencement but there was no way I would have been able to attend ( i live out of state) and I am also a survivor of the a Route 91 concert!! Now I am on a waiting list and won't know if I can walk until a month before graduation!! Really disappointed and now has left a bad feeling about them. I have worked my butt off to complete my education and what I have been through in the last couple of months I really needed this!! Paying all this money and devoting all my time it sucks that i am not sure i will be able to celebrate my accomplishment!! It doesnt make sense to me!! I was already set to walk in spring but i finished 3 weeks before Fall Commencement. I never received an email to participate in Fall Commencement!!"

"Scam fraudulent school. The degree they gave out are not accepted at most work places. They financial department is a joke. Instructors are all uneducated and clueless about the subjects they teach. You are better off looking for other legitimate colleges around Arizona. Let this be a warning before you try to attend."

"Pursuing a graduate degree was a personal goal of mine for several years while on active duty. I found a degree plan that was perfectly suited for me at Grand Canyon University. My younger sister was the person who introduced me to the program after her completion of an undergrad degree. The university provides several different options to pursue a degree that will fit within a schedule of a young working professional. My program allows me to focus on one credit at a time at a pace that is supported by the fact that I'm still serving in the military. The professors and other students have provided me with several different personal perspectives about leadership styles and organizational behavior that will benefit me and the people I manage throughout my career. I still communicate with my admissions advisor to schedule future classes that work within my schedule and can monitor my progress and my anticipated graduation date directly on my student portal. I have already referred another service member to this school and would continue to recommend it to anyone interested in a degree."

"I am currently still attending GCU. I have had some major set backs with my daughter's health. GCU Staff and Instructors have been influential in my educational career assisting in tutoring, guidance and emotional support. With my daughter's health and subsequent medical procedure's I fell behind and was unable to finish a course because my time was spent between my oldest daughter that was in the hospital, work and my youngest daughter who is just over 2 years old. My guidance counselor and instructors were so very helpful in assisting me in meeting what goals I could and have given me the chance to begin again to finish my Master's as well as cement a solid future for myself and my children, who I will encourage to attend GCU as well! It is a fabulous, Christian Based school that leads students in their quest to fulfill a faith based life and career. I would recommend GCU to anyone who asked."

"Grand Canyon University had some of the best instructors around. The instructors were well educated and experienced. The GCU staff is very helpful in ensuring you are prepared for classes. You will be glad you chose this school. I am excited and motivated to attend courses every week. The business program has been very challenging but rewarding."
