"This school has worse communication than any school I have ever attended. I have been to 4 colleges, and I have never had an issue with communicating with management. The Financial Advisor is off more than anyone I know and as well never responds it may take a week, and continuously calling and pressing 2 to speak to someone else and then being told they can't help, you need to talk to your advisor. I have also never heard of a university that does not direct deposit checks you have to wait til they are ready to send your money. I have been out of school, quitting 3 weeks ago due to communication issues. The field adviser is just as bad because she tells me to read the email I sent you and then can't tell me anything else. I would not recommend this place to anyone except the BBB because they are there for money issues."

"Worst school EVER... instructors could care less about the success of their students. Counselors are the same. When you reach out for help nothing is ever RESOLVED all they do is give you the run around. Do yourself a huge favor & LISTEN TO THESE REVIEWS... I SURE WISH I HAD...."

"This is not a real school; it is a money making factory! I was there for a semester and I had the most horrible experience at GCU. I chose this school because it is a Christian school but it was a big mistake. GCU has no CHRISTIAN VALUES. I think its just a name. The advisors won't answer your email; it takes a week to email back. They would not release your transcript because they made up some scholarship that was never applied for my tuition. I had to go for a surgery for the first week that I wanted to withdraw but they charge me $2000 which is way more than their tuition. I would NOT RECOMMEND this school to anyone! I wish they negative star. I would give -5 stars!!! That's how upset I am with them!"

"I would never recommend this school to anyone! At this point I am absolutely disgusted with the way I have been treated by various staff at GCU. Since graduating, I haven’t been able to get in contact with anyone. I haven’t received my diploma and when I call I am being given the run around. I’ve reached out to my assigned counselor and she haven’t responded to my email. I don’t get it. If you owe them money they hound you until paid. Yet, they owe me something and I cannot seem to get a live person to rectify this issue. Instead I’m being sent to voicemail after voicemail. Shame on you, GCU!"

"I would NEVER recommend this college if you are doing this online and you do not have a broadband service! They recently switched the system for online classes and without broadband it will not load! Living in a small area I am one of the lucky ones that struggles to upload homework or see grades. Most of the time I have to travel elsewhere to submit documents which defeats the purpose of it."

"I have had a wonderful experience thus far at Grand Canyon University. My advisers have always been available to help me with any questions or concerns I have had in a timely manner. The teachers I have had in my program have been very knowledgeable in their subject area and I have learned so much! I would highly recommend this school to anyone."

"Grand Canyon University is my "go to" school. I received my bachelors degree through GCU and just returned to continue with my masters degree. The staff are absolutely amazing, helpful, and very friendly. I grew very close to my advisor as she always called me to check in on me even while I took the year off between degrees. Financial counselor kept me up to date with all the finances and loans and everyone always answered any question I had (even when they may have sounded off the wall). Every instructor I have had were very educated in their department of what they were teaching and all the content presented was very detailed and informative which helped a lot when I got into the classroom to start teaching myself. GCU is by far the best college I have attended to online and I would not go anywhere else."

"Ok, so here is my honest opinion. I received my undergrad from Montclair State University. 20 yrs later I decided to change careers and needed to go back to school. I chose GCU and have never been happier. T.K., truly a gem and the reason I chose GCU over other online schools. She has been the most transparent person I have ever met. She was honest and help ease my anxiety over online schools. She stayed is constant contact with me aND always willing to help. I truly miss her as she no longer works for GCU. If u r considering going back to school, GCU is a fine choice and your champion for success!!!"

"Grand Canyon University is an excellent institution that I would highly recommend to others. The convienence and ease of online classes made changing careers a very pleasant experience. I was always able to communicate with teachers, students and staff as needed. Anytime there was a concern, teachers and staffed addressed the issue and helped me along the way. The Christian based values and beliefs was also an added bonus to my educational journey at GCU!"

"Attending GCU has been a wonderful experience! I am changing careers, so ensuring my success and having assistance along the way was very important to me. Anytime there was a concern, someone was there to help. As I working to complete a Masters in Early Childhood Education, I was required to communicate often with several different people to ensure hours were met, I was placed in classrooms correctly, and that all other requirements were met. I felt very comfortable working with everyone. Again, at anytime there was a problem, someone was there to help! The curriculum and online classroom was also very well structured and maintained. It was very easy to communicate with teachers and other students regardless of distance. GCU's Christian values are also a huge bonus! I love knowing that others have similar beliefs and values and we are all working towards a successful future! I would highly recommend GCU!"

"My experience at GCU have been amazing. My counselors were very supportive through out my program and the professor were always available. As an online student i felt like i had to be my own administrator at times. Although my counselors were helpful I made sure i knew when i needed to do my tests and turn in certain paperwork. For example I was very proactive when it came to my observation hours. Their are times i had to find the school myself especially during the summer when schools were out. Basically you have to ask a lot of questions to make sure everything go as plan. This is especially important for student teaching and other internships. Overall I would not change my experience at gcu for the world. Go Lopes!"

"As an older student, (50), I have found GCU to be exactly what I have needed. I just finished my 5th graduate class in Early Childhood Education, with the online program. I have heard from GCU every week since starting. I have had every question answered. My financial aid has been on time and effortless. GCU was referred to me by a friend who just completed the Nursing program online. She LOVED the program and I will forever be grateful she shared her experience with me. If you are expecting to be hand held or pampered, then you will probably be disappointed with any school."

"I am not able to comment on such categories as, campus safety or transportation due to the nature of my classes mainly being online, but what I can say is that the support I have received this far, can only lead me to believe that the on campus experience is just as great as online. I love my courses and the length of time to complete my program is very acceptable. The staff and students have been amazing and encouraging. I would recommend this University to others. Love the mission and vision statement and how they are preparing educators for the future."

"The best feature that graduate program offers is, creating opportunity for scholars to express, share, and acquire knowledges from colleagues pursuing the same career aspiration. Additionally, graduate program encourages ongoing academically appropriate writing practices. If there is one downfall about a graduate program, that would be the strict grading system that scholars has to follow."

"The Pro's of this graduate program is that is has practical teaching methods and assignments embedded into it's coursework and has a rigorous practicum expectation that truly allows the teacher candidate to be prepared for the classroom when they have graduated. The Con's about the program would probably be the financing aspect, grad courses are more expensive inherently and so it is a serious investment into your career, but a worthy investment!"

"I am an online graduate student. Grand Canyon University was great for me because I could attend class when I wanted to, since there are no set times that classes meet I could be more flexible. This was great because I work full time and have a family to care for in the evenings. I also liked this program because it was more affordable than my local university and still provided a quality education. I learned about many new concepts in the field of early childhood education. The cons of this graduate program is not having face to face contact with other students and instructors because it is an online program, and not having a connection with other students."

"The only reason for the lower star rating is that I am an online student and could not rate the qualities of campus life. In regard to my actual academic program, I certainly felt that my courses provided relevant material that will help in my professional development. All topics covered are issues that are currently being faced in today's public school system. The instructors in each class were extremely available and most gave extensive feedback. The assignments were explained well and provided a very good overview of the daily teaching experience. I would be hard pressed to supply a negative comment as I feel this has been a totally worthwhile endeavor."
