"IUPUI is a good school in a strange part of Indy"

"In the year and a half that I have been involved in this program I feel the pros that the program has to offer are a great variety of knowledgeable staff. I feel the quality and depth of the curriculum challenges and provides a great opportunity for well rounded critical thinking. The cons that I have experienced which all stem from my individual circumstance of having to work a full-time job, is not having encough time to manage work and my academic study time."

"Campus is located in downtown Indy with easy access via car or public transportation. Faculty are engaging and available. Diverse campus with many opportunities to connect with student organizations, network with professionals, and attend guest lectures and seminars. Five MSW tracks to choose from: leadership, healthcare, schools, child welfare, and mental health & addictions."

"Overall, my experience in the public health program at IUPUI was fine. Professors are great, accommodating, and experienced in the field. However, there was never a cohort sense or connectedness to other students. This was a program working professionals tended to complete as a side to their already busy lives. There was not much room for those who were exploring areas, but was instead designed for those who already had a direction. Since, the program has changed including the establishment of the School of Public Health where it is becoming more adept for the traditional student."

"Indiana has a great medical program that is the second largest in the country (and growing). Indianapolis is a wonderful city to live where you can get the big city feel and still feel at home."

"Phd students will graduate with the same degree as the main campus master's would be labeled with the campus."

"The networking available at IUPUI is incredible. Many of the professors in the department are/were professionals, so they have not only an academic approach, but also an applied approach. They are able to share best practices for Nonprofit Management. The program is also collaborative, helping students help each other. Collaborating instead of stiff competition among students is helpful to make the greatest impact on the community."

"I am in an evening program that has allowed me to work while taking classes. It can be a lot, but this program has been a great experience."

"I paid out of state tuition, which is more than three times the price of resident tuition, to take classes where the professors knew thier content but had no background in teaching and did not know how to teach in many cases. Also, there were times when I knew more about the subject than the professors because it is a school counseling program and they are all mental health counselors with little to know school experience while I have worked in schools as a teacher for 12 years."

"If you are lucky enough to obtain a tenured staff as a professor the quality of the classes are usually top notch. However, if not, it seems as though you are wasting your money. Advising staff is often snippy and rude, but if you are on top of your schedule, you can do fine as far as getting your courses done. This program is marketed as a flexible 2 year program; however, it is very difficult to complete in 4 semesters. Class schedules are not flexible. You will be forced into taking classes that may not work for you (often times, required courses are only offered by one professor, evenings only, Saturday's only)."

"The faculty is very supportive and have knowledge in research. There are no cons of the graduate program itself. However, IUPUI in general, should improve it's IT department."

"Dental School can be overwelming, but that is expected from any dental program outhere, but after sometime you get used to it and it does not feel but at all. At IUSD professors are dedicted to our learning and available to help. Loved the anatomy lab, was a great learning experience!"
