"Attending Walden University was a great experience. It is completely online, and because of this, you must be dedicated and self-sufficient. The flexibility provided was tremendous and I was able to obtain a bachelor's degree as well as a master's while working full time. Even though it was online, I still felt a sense of community and support. The classes were interesting and the professors were helpful. There was the option of attending an in-person graduation as well, which I did. It was fun meeting all my classmates whom I never met in person before."

"Walden is a great school for those who are already able to proficiently use technology. I have had very few issues with the school, but I am also able to find the resources to answer my questions, understand my assignments and how to use their website, and keep all of my assignments organized. I have all of my classes registered for me by my academic advisor, so I have never had to worry about missing deadlines. At the beginning of my registration all the way until now, my academic advisor has been friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive. I really enjoy this school. I would say, however, that online learning is a strength of mine and for someone who needs more support, this school may feel less supportive. A lot the work, financial aid, finding materials, contacting resources, is done by you, not the school."

"Walden University's (online) Master's Clinical Psychology Degree Program was an okay experience. Most of the work was writing samples and case studies. I did enjoy being able to talk to other classmates around the world in a discussion type of environment but I didn't feel as though they helped with internship placement and advising for your future. Tuition was extremely high but books were included. So, you didn't have to run around searching for your materials and they were shipped directly to your home. The professors where very knowledgeable in their field but it was hard to generalize the material into "real-world" experiences. Walden online taught me how to keep an organized schedule and helped me with my researching skills."

"I started in the General Psych program then switched to Industrial/Organizational Psych. There are a lot of unnecessary classes (which may not be unique just to this school; I'm not sure) and it feels ridiculous to pay tuition to take such courses that are meant simply to "teach" good study habits or get accustomed to posting in online environments. Really basic, unnecessary stuff. Plus there were other courses that were deemed mandatory even though they were only introductory and had no follow-up (such as Research Methods - all the various psychological tests out there, how they work, what they measure, etc., which is great information but could have been included as a sub-matter in another class. The entire course was simply for us to pick one of these tests and study it in-depth, then continuously report on it for the entire 12 weeks. Such a thing is not going to help me in a career since it was way too generic, yet way too focused at the same time). However, many teachers really did engage students and encourage discussion beyond "Great post! I agree!" but at times it really did feel like I wasn't in a real competitive environment, in the sense that witnessing extremely poor grammar, syntax, etc. in others' discussion postings (especially from those who were purported to be at the end of their program) made me wonder how they ever got accepted in the first place at a Master's level (well, other than being willing to shell out $$). I do feel I learned a lot, and there was enough variety, such as group projects, and videos of case studies to watch and learn from. I did hit a snag with my final thesis in that I e-mailed repeatedly for status updates and the entire delay pushed me into another quarter, but after filing an appeal I was refunded the entire price."

"I decided to quit-the last teachers made my life absolutely miserable, one was worst than the other. When you say something they will make your life hell. They don't care when the teacher lies and re-edits their grading, if they don't participate in the discussion posts, if they give you 12 point deductions because you submitted something 1 hour late, they simply don't care. This university turns out to be all about teachers and management, shareholder value nothing else. They don't care about you the students. I'm only 3 classes away from graduation, and now I'm forced to go somewhere else, I cannot handle this abuse anymore. No matter what I do, I can't win. I criticized the teacher and now he is retaliating, same thing happened before, walden had formatting issues and the teacher blamed me. Don't bother speaking up, this will make everything worse, because no matter what, they will side with the teacher, even they lie and cheat, they make you look crazy and belittle you. All they want is your money and they are cold and mean-spirited. They have all the words but don't live what they preach! Then one hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing, they are so big now there is no oversight. They give you a grade deduction if you use references older than ten years but they themselves provide you with text books which are 15 years old and references over 20 years...nothing makes any sense! Their curriculum is vague and has several errors in there. They don't update their data and texts have spelling errors in it. They let the teachers do whatever they want and even they know they are wrong they still will side with them and throw you under the bus! They are dishonest and have double standards when it comes to ethical standards, they expect from you to be quiet and like a robot but they themselves are never wrong and have the last word-that is all Fashism, they should not be in business anymore since they don't know how to be good people! It is all about money and profits, and they could not care less about a human being-you!"
