"BEWARE!!!! The PhD prerequisite coursework was easy with much student and instructor guidance on a weekly basis. However...Be Aware and Be Prepared for the PhD dissertation process. It takes forever, costs a fortune, and you are on your own with very little guidance. The university estimates (4) quarters to write/complete the entire dissertation. Each quarter costs approximately $3000. It will really take about 8 quarters. So, $24,000 just to write the dissertation. The Chair takes 5 weeks to give you any feedback. Then it goes to the committee member, who takes 5 weeks to give feedback. Then, the quarter is over and not much was accomplished. Why can't the Chair and committee member simultaneously give you feedback together????? And what happened to the 7 day feedback requirement???? It is a money-making hoax!!! ***Make sure the career step you will gain is worth the $80,000 it costs for the PhD Degree."

"Walden has numerous great resources. Responsive faculty that provide detailed feedback. Affordable. Flexible. Rigorous and honest grading practices. Travel for residencies required. The residency time provides face-to-face time to grow connections. I am very pleased with my choice in attending Walden University."

"Don't talk back! If an instructor is rude on the blackboard you had better ignore it because if not - they will screw you over like there is no tomorrow. They wasted my student loans. The instructor involved twisted the truth as far as she could. I was in my fourth class. I had completed three and received A's in all of them. And then this instructor entered stage left and just started tearing me apart. Twisting the truth to suit her. I reached out for help and the more I did the worse the problems became. Go to a different school. No grad student needs this garbage. This school is expensive and they do not do anything more than the bare minimum to help you through - clinging to POLICY at all times - rather than just doing what is right. RUN from this program. Also consult YouTube there are a couple of interesting posts from Walden student's on there as well."

"Hi, I am currently a graduate student pursuing a Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Walden University. I received my MSN last year in 2015. Please consider me for this scholarship. Walden is a great institution with thoughtful instructors. I found the curriculum to be well-designed and very informative. I completely understood what was expected of me as a student and how instructors could contribute to my success."

"The DNP Nursing Program at Walden University is a NIGHTMARE. The school of nursing is unorganized, unstructured, and lacks ethics. I chose this university in the beginning over a private university because of cost and time, but my colleagues who went to a private university spent less than me and got their DNP degree a year before me. Here's my experience with the school. Walden University is not recognized and often you cannot find a practicum site. The Chair advisors do not respond in a timely manner in fact it's towards the end of the semester the Chair contacts you. Please note when you've completed the 47 credits they tell you at the initial interview that's all you needed to graduate, you are left in shock an awe; because they rob you by enrolling you into a course they call 8700 TOTALLY WASTE OF MONEY - BEWARE this is the most unethical thing that they consistently do. They DO NOT HELP STUDENTS. The president of Walden university needs to look into these complaints. The DNP program should be shut down. Am sure if any student in the program sees this they would agree. I just finished but I'm not proud. I wanted to transfer but no school would accept my transfer because I was to the end not even Cambridge university."

"Walden's Doctor or Nursing Practice Program (DNP). Walden University advertise that the DNP project is completed within the following courses: NURS 8410, NURS 8400, NURS 8500, and NURS 8510. This is not true !!!! After you finish NURS 8510 Walden will have you enrolling in 8701 for at least an additional year or more; be prepared to pay Walden University and additional 15,000 to 20,000 dollars after Nursing 8510 . The Attorney General at the United States Department of Justice needs to do something about how this University is deliberately stealing funds from students."

"The DNP program is very structured, as with any completion program (i.e BSN, MSN) discussion threads and assignments were useful. As nurses we already have a solid foundation in nursing, we already know how to write papers, & projects using APA format, so getting through the core class was a breeze. The problem starts when you are finish with all of the course work and trying to finish your DNP project, they run you through course 8701 at least 4 times. No course work just trying to get your manuscript approved by your committee. There is little to know guidance, at times the chairperson does not respond to emails for weeks. If this problem occurs Dr. Moss is the go to person, she will respond immediately. Overall I am happy to be finish, I will not recommend the program to anyone."

"Being an online doctoral student has afforded me the opportunity to continue my education while still fulfilling my commitments to family and work. I am able to complete work at my own pace and set my own schedule. Walden University is an outstanding school with much rigor in the classroom and coursework to further my career and nursing practice."

"Pros: Nurse practitioner program can be completed in 18 months if the student is willing to increase workload Cons: Mostly self-teaching; faculty mostly work part-time and are often unavailable; scholarships are very limited; costs are much higher than most other schools, whether online or traditional"

"Walden University is an excellent school to obtain an online degree. The professors are very active in the student learning outcomes. The professor are extremely supportive of the students' success. The advisors are very helpful and checking on the students via emails or phone calls. I am blessed to be attending a University who mission statement and values are committed to the students and to the community. I would like to thank everyone at Walden University for their support and professional interactions. The library is awesome and the staff members are great. Thanks again, Dometrives"
