"The program gives you the essentials of what you need to succeed. The key is being a motivated person with discipline and self drive. You won't be spoon fed and quite frankly I'm unsure if I would trust the clinician that has to be hand held. The program and my clinical preceptors gave me the basics that I need to begin my career as a provider. We are entry level NP's and not experienced clinicians. I had an extremely positive experience at Waldn. There were no surprises and I was well aware of the expectations."

"If I knew then what I know now I would have never attended this University. I had heard such great things from other students so I decided to apply. What a huge mistake! The coursework does not prepare you to be successful as a Nurse Practitioner. I am currently working with another Walden Nurse and she said that she enjoyed her experience with the program. I am asking myself did we attend the same university because I definitely don't feel the same way! Finding receptors was a nightmare. I later learned that my geriatric preceptor did not want anymore Walden students and I can understand why. I also discovered that some employers will not hire Walden graduates. During my clinical rotations I asked my clinical instructors for guidance. I was told that I was basically supposed to rely on my preceptors. They were not getting paid to do that. I am not posting this for sympathy. I just wish I had done my research prior to applying to Walden. I feel like I wasted valuable time and money on a program that did not prepare me for practice. When people ask where I went to school, I am ashamed to mention the school's name. I definitely do not recommend this school to RNs looking to further their career."

"This school lacks seriously in customer service, especially after one grads. I have been waiting for them to deliver docs to another state for endorsement. It is impossible to call in as they do not answer their phones and the representatives are really cocky in the chat feature and unable and unwilling to solve anything. I also had to pay twice for official transcripts (and wait 2 months) for them to be processed. Admission is a breeze, clinicals a headache, post grad communications (translation: once they milked you dry) are impossible and they don't give. Walden, understand this, this NP here is NEVER referring a single student to you, and those unfortunates misguided into thinking to attend I will turn around. Thank you."

"I would give a 5 but the cost makes me lower my score to a 4. The classes are aimply what you make of them. I don't know how other students did in my classes but I finished with a 3.9 GPA. I passed the NP boards and that is all that mattered to me. You can skate theough the classes with minimal effort or you can work your ass off, it's all up to you. Expectations are clear. My salary mearly doubled and I would do it all again. Starting the DNP program this month."

"Walden is a great online school that provides a vigorous Masters in Nursing program. The program is very structured and organized. The professors are very active in discussions and encourage you to really think and dig deep. Their mission and vision statements are the main reasons I chose this school"

"Walden was a great experience for me. I worked full-time throughout most of the program. I always had technical support and report from the professors. The program is very flexible. I was able to petition to take extra courses due to my previous grades. I could participate in class or on the discussion board day or night. I was awarded a discount for my affiliations. Every course has a rubric to follow, so you are never confused about the assignment."
