"Walden is terrible. You do not get proper support and help from staff. The enrollment counselor work on commission. They lie, you have to do a portfolio and you can not even get help...they are mini test. They say you have three tries to pass. They have failed me on 5 parts 4,5,6 times. Do not go to Walden."

"The support staff have been very helpful so far, no problems with financial aid or advisement so far. I disagree with the classes being too easy. I guess they might be if you do not have a full-time job. Online learning is self-propelled. I am learning quite a bit from my readings, videos and personal research. However, the professors are lack-luster. I know that they are holding advanced degrees, but many of them are not teachers. Their practices fly in the face of what we are reading in our education classes. So far, many of them as rude and do not answer emails promptly. In the class I am currently taking, the professor or should I say facilitator takes two weeks to grade applications and then deducts points for word choice. I am not belly-aching because I am doing poorly, as a matter of fact, my grades are excellent. I just expected more expertise and more guidance. I do not feel that personal touch that I received from the support staff. For that I am sorely disappointed and if given the chance, I would not have began my graduate education with Walden University."

"So far I have had an excellent experience at Walden. Courses are rigorous and challenging, yet professors provide plenty of support. My only concern is how much value my degree will be to me when I graduate from Walden. However, most posts I've read are reassuring."

"Because my classes are online, campus safety, social life, surrounding area, and affordability are not relevant. I have been impressed with the accessibility of faculty and staff. I have submitted questions online and received answers very quickly."

"The program is self paced to a degree. Faculty are engaged with the students. While it is expected students reach out to faculty when there is a problem, I have had the experience of faculty reaching out to me in times of need."

"Walden University offers outstanding academic challenges. The information is practical application of theoretical constructs that is important for current educational situations. The only con is the cost of education."

"My undergraduate degree was achieved at a brick and mortar institution and I was very skeptical about online education. My husband is in the military so we move frequently. As the years passed and I had not gone back to school, and then found myself living overseas, I noticed some of my colleagues were attending online schools. I began talking to them and learning about different schools. One respected colleague had completed the MS Education Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment program and took the time to answer all of my questions and had very positive things to say about Walden. Since I very much needed to get back into school, I sent an email requesting more information. My inquiry was answered quickly and it was very simple to get enrolled. My husband and I decided to pay my way so I did not apply for financial aid, so I cannot say anything on that topic. I have read lots of very nasty reviews about Walden, however my experience was great. Rubrics were used and clear criteria explained to get grades. I managed to graduate with a 4.0, feeling the work load was just right. Anytime I began to slack on assignments, points were deducted. It was not easy, but required discipline to stay on point and to complete the ePortfolio component. I had to take a break as my family was moving to a new country, but other than that one blip I went straight through. I feel I learned as much as I would have at a brick and mortar institution and the work improved my performance as a teacher. If you are not disciplined and willing to work hard, it is not for you. I've seen many people bash this institution so I waited until I received my email stating I had met all graduation criteria and to expect my diploma in the mail soon before writing a review. Any concern I had was responded to promptly. Throughout all classes, I felt all teachers were fair, professional, and prompt. Please note I did not use financial aid services nor job placement services but had to fill in the stars."
